no spark

Alright I have checked other threads and can't find anything that can fix my problem. I have a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Manual yes its a 7 bolt. Heres the deal I replaced the head gasket because my car blew the head gasket. So i got it all together and went to start and there was no spark on 2 and 3 found out my skunk2 cam gears didnt come with the pick up plate for the cam sensor so after i replaced the cam gear with the old one with the cam sensor plate on the back i went to start it and now there is no spark on 1 and 4. I had spark on 1 and 4 before i changed the cam gear back to stock and now i dont have spark. So i have spark on 2 and 3 now but not on 1 and 4 anymore. I used an ohm meter on both coils to make sure they were good and they were. Compression is good. Any ideas?

Are you getting fuel? Sounds like the cam or crank sensor might have gone bad. Same thing ahappened to me when i rebuilt my engine. I would check those two sensors.

the cam angle sensor/crank angle sensor both will cause this... you were headed in the right direction, keep playing with the cam angle sensor. on my 97 the CAS is impossible to install incorrectly but i have read somewhere on tuners that on some of the CAS (depending on year) you can have it 180 degrees out? can anyone with a 95 verify this would cause the misfire?

On a 95, isn't the cam sensor a hall-effect style triggered by the actual cam gear itself on the intake side? Or is that only on the 95-96 Eclipse? I don't believe there is an adjustable CAS. I would check your Power Transistor too, those have been known to cause some crazy issues.

So i am going to follow the haynes manual I have on backprobing the sensors and cranking it over to see if its the cam or the crank sensors. I have great spark on 2 and 3 though and nothing on 1 and 4 thats just confusing to me maybe i need to stick with small block chevys but i love this car except for this of course. i will let you guys know what i find out and thanks for the input.

Where would the power transistor be?
