1G No spark issue

Im having a problem with my 1990 Eagle Talon TSI. Its getting no spark i have been checking the coil pack and not getting any consistent readings so i think that could be one but just in case i wanted to know how do i check the CAS. Also the car has a new motoguys rebuilt ecu in it. The car is getting fuel but when starting the car the CEL does not display is that correct?

when you turn the ignition key to ON the CEL should come up for appox. 5 seconds before shutting off. if the CEL isn't lighting up at all then its either a burnt bulb or your "rebuilt" ECU isn't communicating properly...
i wouldn't worry about testing the CAS until you get a known good ECU in there.

im haveing the same problem almost but i dont have a new ecu yet and there are signs of my ecu failing

does the cel come on with the koeo?(key on engine off)? i would check the igniter also.

If the fuel pump turns on when your car cranks, your CAS will be fine. If you have a CEL on, pull the codes and reference your FSM to find out whats broken.

You can also pull your CAS out, turn the key on, spin the CAS by hand and see if your plugs fire.

If the fuel pump turns on when your car cranks, your CAS will be fine.

During cranking on a 1G the fuel pump is run off the starter signal, that's not an indication the CAS is good.

if you have no cel when u turn the key to run i would first check your ignition fuse and then the ecu
the ignition fuse would be the best place to start make sure its in there good
