I am sorry guys, you probably have seen so many of these questions, but I have honestly searched for hours. I cannot find anything like my problem! First off, my dome lights work when I push the buttons inside. So anyway, I have my doors wide open and it wont even give me a door ajar sign on the cluster. I have taken the switches off cleaned them, checked to make sure they work etc. Still nothing! What I really don't get is that the hatch, when open, gives me the door ajar light. But yet my dome lights do not turn on!?

Another mystery I have is that my light around the ignition won't light up, my car will not make a buzzing noise when I leave my lights on and take the keys out. And of course I don't get the buzzing from my doors being open with the keys in.

Oh and another question, when i switch my key to ACC it beeps a few times, my brother claims this isn't normal? Is it?

Some one pleasseee help me with this! I am at the end of my rope and it is driving me insane

mine does the same thing sometimes!!
sometimes, i can be riding down the road, and the guage cluster just all shuts off, and then the *door ajar* beep comes on and my cluster works again?
idk maybe its just another common problem?

How about the fuse box under the hood? How did you check the fuses looking at them or using a tester? I have had ones that look good be bad.

I replaced the interior headlamp ones with one that I know works. When I open the hatch, the trunk light comes on, but shouldn't that also turn on my dome lights?

What makes them come on is the little black button on the bottom of where the frame and door meet. It comes out with 1 screw. They get corroded because they are closer to the elements. Take it out. Unplug it and clean it. Sounds like a relay is by the rear driver speaker well for it. But I'm not positive. That's what controls the lights when you open the door.

I dont know if you meant this by "the switches" in your post.

Yes, I have these already out and sitting beside me they look fine, besides if they were messed up, wouldn't it read that the door was open instead of closed

my door button actually corroded shut so it was pushed in and would never push back out to say that the door was open. Let me read your post again.

edit: kinda lost... the wires have had to been touched before? something isn't making a connection. maybe someone else can shine light on this...

No dome lights just the trunk light. Thats how its supposed to work. Did you check the fuses in the engine bay that have the little yellow cover on top of 2 fuses. Located at the bottom left side of the engine fuse compartment? Radio fuse also effects interior lights if its blown they wont work either.

Yes sir! I have checked and swapped working ones into them with no luck? Thank you so much giving me stuff to check though :thumb: I am totally stumped what this could be, when I get home I am going to try to trace all the wiring to make sure its all intact

Have you checked the light bulbs?

Yeah my bulbs are fine because I can turn the dome lights on by hand. Also my door ajar lights come on when my hatch is open, it might just be that wiring from the door switched

Checked the wires from the switches and they are all intact. I'm guessing its something in the fuse box?

ive had 2 2g n/t's and they bothe had this issure but when i had my tsi awd everything worked fine. i had searched and searched for the problem but never could find the answer

Hey guys, It's been awhile since I've posted this but I am still having the problem! From what I can tell my door switches are fine and I have checked both and even recieved new ones. The question I have is the previous owner who had this talon made an absolute mess of the radio wiring and other wires coming out of the radio spot. I mean chopped up and just a mess, I was wondering if something is messed up there would it cause these things to mess up?

Does the switch on the drivers side
Have any blue? Check don't just say no if it does then that's why it's not making the buzzing sound, key ring light come on. Also behind the plastic panel in the back
Seat area drivers side there is a little black box that says keyless check to see if thats plugged in

Hey there, thanks for the reply, I was starting to think everyone gave up on me, and what exactly do you mean blue? Like I remember when I took the rubber off of it the back had a blue connector on it?

Just because the switches "look" fine doesnt mean they are.. Both in my spyder were hooked up and looked like new (california car) but were junk. Dome and buzzer wouldnt come on with the door open. Swapped one from my buddys GSX and it worked.. It never bothered me though so I never cared to put new ones in. Just my .02

But this is my 2nd set :( Where do you suggest i get new ones

First thought would be a parts store.. I have no idea how much they'd be though.

You should take a multimeter and check for power in the switch wiring though. If you dont have power there then your problem is elsewhere, not the switch itself. Maybe a relay or a fuse that is being overlooked. Or faulty wiring.

This is really stupid...but I have a multimeter, how do I check for power?
