Replaced the starter checked all my grounds replaced the battery and my car only clicks. The car does start on occasion but you have to keep turning the key sometimes for 45 minutes to an hour. Any other ideas? Brought it to a mechanic 3 times and never fixed the issue. It's a 97 Spyder GS.

What do your battery terminals look like? Make sure they are the zinc style and not the black and red marine style.

Is it clicking from under the hood or clicking In the car behind the radio. My project car has a bad ground to the radio, or a crossed wire on the amp bypass and will click from the center console to indicate a bad ground

Battery terminals are brand new. There is a clicking sound near the front passenger tire it's under the headlight it's like a black box.

Do what boostedAWD said. Apply power directly to the little tab on the starter, if the starter works it will spin over. Then you know your problem lies, either in the wiring, relay or Ignition. I just had this problem and it was my relay

I figured it out it is a ground but I don't know where all the grounds are. I'm thinking the headlight. Shows the turn signal is out but the work fine.

Just curious, do you know of any ways of appying direct current to the starter? and would you apply it while the starter is still in the car?
