2G Crank no start

i bought a 1997 eclipse it had a new engine (4g63t manual) just needed to be installed tried turning it on and it just crank no start. i don’t have the Maf airflow sensor so im not sure if i need that to start it for the first time. other than that i can’t think of what it can be
