Ok here is my story. In january, I wrecked my 95 talon in an accident, it cracked the block so I decided to do a 6 bolt swap. I got the motor in and it was running great. then after about 30 milesof driving it, I would notice when I stop sometimes, it would take about 10-15 seconds of cranking to start her up. later on that night, it would start and run rougher then shit and blow out a ton of blue smoke and unburned fuel. I did a compression test and I had bad rings. ok pulled the motor again now I have a new motor in with great compression. Its cranking but wont start and doing the same thing blowing a lot of unburned fuel. timing is dead on, gets aprk, and obviously fuel. The only things that are the same on the motor is the 95 eprom ecu and the green top cas. Could it be oneo f these are my problem or is it something stupid? I had a bad electrical short also that melted some wires in the main harness near the alternator also. What are some ideas? Thanks guys alot I aprreciate your help-Randy

A little more about the car:
95 tsi awd
6 bolt w/balance shafts removed
sbr g50 turbo
huge fmic w/1g bov
full 3" exhaust
megan shortthrow shifter
green top cas
rre 6 bolt swap harness

Something to check is the neutral safety switch. There is a wire that comes from the same harness that connects to the thermostat housing, and the other end of that connector is on the harness for the starter. I just know it will not start w/out that connector.

Not to sound mean or anything...but you made sure you put your spark plug wires the right way? 4-1-2-3

If his plugs were opposite, 2-3-4-1, ect, the motor would sound like it was straining to turn over and would back fire like a mother. I know this because I just started up my 6-bolt swap 2 days ago and had that issue. Switched them around and it started right up!

Im gonna keep ripping apart the harness and check for more broken wires and ill check the plugs again also. any more tips would be greatly appreciated ill have my laptop nearby. thanks alot guys
