hey guys i really need help to get this car running. i did the 6 bolt swap with a mechanic and another of my friend that he did the swap before and this thing is getting me really frustrated we have been stock on this problem for like 3 days. we did the swap with 6 bolt block and head. did the timing, checked all the vacumm lines, gas, spark wires, the car only starts when we add the booster that you blugs into the wall not a normal booster, wont start with the normal battey.and when the car starts it keeps idling never stays constant the camshafts are BC 280/280. could cause it a little rough but not btw 800-1500 rpm. so the mechanic says it could be the starter which thats the only thing didnt change lool...the fuel pump was changed for upgrade purposes, we checked the sparks also, but could it be actually the starter? please help asap guys. and oh ya when i remove the booster machine the car stays on but almost dying and sometimes it does after we took it for a short spin. and also if its the starter can i get like a starter from an avenger or sebring or any eclipse or talon non turbo? because these eclipse or talon are hard to find here and dont want to wait anymore for a starter  help asap guys pleaseee and thanks

My head hurts after trying to read that. I'll just cover what I managed to understand.

Is your 1g CAS on properly and not 180* out. Did you get your base timing set with a light? WTF is a "booster machine"?

sorry so much frustrations didnt know where to start to end. its the booster you plug into the wall and boost not a like any booster you carry around. and yes we did check the proper firing system and its going good, but the mechanic said when you try to crank the car, the starter takes the whole power that it wont let it start. also i got the check engine light which i think it wont hurt to start the car.

Put the car in neutral and try to turn the crank by hand. If it cranks, try a different starter or a new battery. Then verify it has compression and fuel and spark at the correct times.

yes it is set on a base timing, and also we check the crank like we turned it by hand it was good. most likely they are saying it is the starter so tomorrow we will be replacing the starter since i have to get it over night order. the fuel and the sparks are at the correct timing thats what we know for sure. we will double check again.

What is the condition of the battery? Old and failing. From what I could understand the motor cranks but not fast enough to start the engine? Adding a battery charger with a boost setting gives it enough juice to start.

First start at the source, load test the battery... yes load test. A multi meter may not reveal a failing battery. What shape are the terminals and cables in? Are all of your grounds properly attached?

If all of those check out... how are you compensating for the 1g cas? Do you have dsmlink? If so did you enable 'invert cas'. How about disable the miss fire code?

If you don't have link did you swap plug and injector wires?

Search 1g in a 2g if you haven't seen rre and magnus's guide on a six bolt swap.

I am in the middle of a 6bolt swap right now and I have been prepairing myself for these problems. Gl.

yes it is set on a base timing, and also we check the crank like we turned it by hand it was good.

That's mechanical timing, not ignition timing. You need to set your base timing (ignition) to 5* by grounding the timing pin and adjusting the 1g CAS you have installed to read 5* with a timing light.

sorry for the late replay was little busy with my exams. well the battery is in really bad condition and they told me to buy a new battery and adviced me thats more than 650cc and yes i did follow the magnus pdf file a step by step. we swap the plugs and injectors manually not by dsmlink and i did order the v3 dsmlink should be in by today before 5 for tuning purposes. and yes all the grounds are connected properly we checked them so many times. my friend took it for a spin and it turned off on him after 1 min but didnt sound like any big misfire...requarding the cas not really sure because my friend was trying to angel it but i think he was moving it to get the best idling not sure exctly. and for the ignition timing is there any link that would show how to do it exactly please?

ok i changed the battery and the starter. it started faster like normal but little heavier due to big cams because they are 280/280 cams. but the issue here it idles slowly like dying 1st and then it keeps increasing, the farthest it went was 3000 rpm and if we lower it to 1500 the motor starts to shake. any ideas please thanks
