I am not getting compression on the 95 tsi talon timing is on the valves were not bad or replaced only the bottom end 8:3:1 wiseco and manley rods acl bearings all done by reputable machine shop. Also balance shaft delete... Please HELP!!!

Did you make sure the lifters were not primed? That can bend valves even if the timing is perfect.

I dont think I did but maybe I mixed the exhaust and intake valves or someoned switched them when they were left at auto school overnight. because its leaking on all cylinders

No on the lifters I replaced them new no oil

I pulled the head off and the valves are mixed up... I used a triple steal gasket and it never ran using arp studs think I can get away without replacing that gasket? Also that small plate between the engine and trans was left out will there be a issue there

At the very least, you need to check all the valves for straightness. Probably wouldn't hurt to check for cracked guides while you're at it.

I've heard of people reusing a HG, but I wouldn't personally. Once the head bolts are torqued, the gasket is going to deform. Getting it to seal properly again could be hit and miss. If you do reuse it, I would use some copper spray on it. And being a MLS gasket, you did machine the deck and head to a very smooth finish (low RA number)...right?

I assume you are talking about the starter plate and not the dust shield on the bottom of the bell housing. Depending on how close your clutch tolerances are and what the flywheel step height is, I would think not having it could cause clutch alignment issues...but I don't have any experience with it not being there. The dust shield isn't critical, but helps keep crap out of your clutch and bell housing.

How the hell does someone mix that up? I'd think it would be easier to install the cylinder head backwards than put the wrong valves in the wrong holes and not notice a problem.

it is done by someone that dose not understand cylinder heads.

small valve gose in small hole, big valve in big hole.

did you grind/cut the seats? or the valves?

were the springs checked?

since he has leaks in all the cylinders sounds like the valves did get mixed up...

now that the valves are mixed, I would bet that all the intake valves that are in the exh side of the head are now bent, due to the valve relifes of the pistions being machined for the smaller exh valves.

If this has happened, the pistons should be removed and checked for pinched rings.

Not having the starter plate installed can cause mis alignment of the starter in relation to the ring gear; resulting in grinding or a non functioning starter. If it's cranking smmothly I'd say you got lucky.

So this was all on your fault with these errors or did an engine builder jack this up?

LiquidX.. sounds like he had the short block built at a shop and was doing the head work himself.....

Well there goes the idea of making the shop fix any errors. Well the saying still stands, "measure twice, cut once".

OP, check the valve guides and see if they are damaged along with the valves. You *could* reuse the MLS head gasket, but you really should replace it after it's been torqued down.

whoa whoa whoa.... WTF mixed up valves? if the machine shop swapped intake valves for exh valves I would have a chat with them, like serious talk.

like putting a shoe on your hand and a glove on your foot? WTF

Let me read on, I just got up off the floor
