no compression... estimates???

Well, I got my talon the other day and it has no compression. The shop I took it too says they want to re-time it. They said it needs a kit for that. The also had said that kit, they had got for a neon and it cost 800 just for the kit, but it could also be like other cars and cost under 100, Anyone know what kit I need and how much it'll be???

Yeah. I got the exact same kit but including a new water pump for like 100 or so on ebay.

I don't think I should need a water pump though, the previous owner replaced the one that's on it. But is this the one your talking about??

I think your going to need to rebuild the head replacing all the bent valves..

Yeah. When I turn it over though it doesn't make any clanking noise. It just doesn't start.

That would mean that the valves aren't bent right or no???

With zero compression something is broken. Have you done a leak down test yet?
