just rebuilt my motor and it wont start, got a compression tester today no compression. did i bend some valves?

Did you put the timing plate on the crank on backwards? Seen that over 5 times and have done it once, But caught it because I spun the motor by HAND before starting it. That will bend the valvestrust me i had the timing 100% idk if it just jumped or what i marked the timing with a grease marker and rotated the motor and it lined up.
