Newbie looking for AWD parts for a 1G Eclipse

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I'm kind of lucky to have a 91 eclipse to fall in my lap. A buddy of mine purchase a colt hatch and got a 91 parts car for free.

He took all of the parts from the Eclipse to put into the colt. He was about to scrap the body, before he decided to call the scrap yard to come pick it up. He asked if I wanted the body for $0, and of course I decided to take it. Hell a free body with some of the interior still in it, but no running gear.

Since now I'm a proud owner of a good project car. I looking to you guys for some assistance in sourcing parts. Either I'm a complete moron or I'm not looking in the right areas for parts. The hardest parts to source are the front and rear suspension parts. I did see a thread for a front tubular k-member, I would also like to get my hands on a tubular rear cross member to match.

If anyone can point me in the right direction for a complete conversion from FWD to AWD, I would greatly appreciate it. And again, thank you for the help

Just to be curious, your profile says N/T (non-turbo). Is that becasue there is no engine in there or because its actually a non-turbo platform?

You need a 1g guys in here to answer about AWD swapping a 1g. If im not mistaking, it is near impossible because there isn't an arch for the driveshaft,(again 1g confirm).

Once you are a proven member, you can use the WTB (classifieds) section of the forum. Its great for sourcing any parts.

Rock Auto, Mitsubishiparts.net, Ebay (be careful here) are good places to look. Also, you woould be surprised what you can get at your local parts stores. Places like autozone, o'rileys, etc.

Vtecvrs is correct on that. Its completely different from doing an AWD swap on a 2G.

Also, make a plan of what you want to do. Making it seem as though you need to do more research first.

I have a complete AWD setup that you could get if you want to travel to MS. (transmission, transfer case, driveshaft, rear subframe, 4bolt lsd) Everything.

After reading a little bit, it looks like it is possible BUT, you will need a complete donor car (AWD). I would just find a rolling chassis (AWD) and start building there. That's just my .02.

Thanks guys for the info. To Vtecvrsturbo, yeah it's an N/A car. I kind of figured it would be an extensive build and if it was even remotely possible to do. Like I said it was free, and I was not expecting on getting up in running so. Again thank you guys for the information. I kind of have a direction on where I want to go with the car. I just have to be slow and methodical on how I will allocate my time and money.

Any body from Texas, preferably in the DFW area have any places for parts yards that strictly deal DSM parts or a yard that has an abundance of DSMs. I have been to a few of them close to where I live now and they have been picked clean.
