Newb Needs Serious Help

I just parted out my heavily modified 99 Mercury Cougar due to the fact it would cost me 15,000 for it to achieve 342 Hp to the FW.

I just bought an 95 Gs-T, a recovered theft. So far from what is looks like...I need a full turbo kit (turbo, intercooler, piping, header/manifold, gaskets), I will need an Injectors and injector harness, Ignition wires, Spark plugs, Air kit, igniton (and key), as well as an antenna.

I am on a budget....so be kind....Here are a few things I am looking at...please chime in....All these items ARE A MUST...buying them used from a member here on the baords would be a plus

Intake) Any recomendations, On the cougar platform...it did not matter what kind of intake you had b/c It all did the same job, just at a different price and a different name.
Also, I will need a box that will cover the intake(prevent heat soak) as well as There is a huge circle underneath where the intake would be...If I come across a puddle goodbye turbo and engine. Where Do I find one or Do I have to make my own? Do I need it?

3) Injectors...With any of these turbo application will I need to upgrade ther injectors? If so what size? Will the fit OEM injector harness?

4) fuel pump works but will need to be upgraded...How soon do I need it

5) What kind of Spark plug wires should I buy?

6) Antenna?

7) Ignition.

Oh, I see. I didn't know that you were dead set on a car alarm. I was just saying I wouldn't mess with it, but that's just me. Soooo, I would suggest just go ahead and get the Viper alarm with a TT built in, also you did say that your friend can get a good deal on that unit right? I can't actually vouch for this product since I've never used it but it should be easier to wire it up alltogether rather than trying to wire to seperate products.

What is the fitment on the BOV? Seller never answered my e-mail :(

That link I'm giving you doesn't send you to the seller's site or anything, it's just a huge thread about this particular intercooler on ebay and ask the question on there, I have no idea what it is flanged for since I never bought it, all those people have and WILL know what it is flanged for. So post any ebay fmic related question there and it will get answered.

It's really no problem man, that's what we're here for. Once you get a good understanding of DSMs you can help others out as well. Good luck with the car and keep us updated if any problems come up.
 
MOTHER ####ER!! MIGHT NEED A NEW ENGINE! Its hydro locked (worst case scenerio). Tomroow I'm gonna blow the water out and try ot crank it...if not drop the oil pan to see if a bearing is broke...How do i post pictures and I'll post a few pics of what I have!

Anyway GOOD NEWS IT CRANKED!
I blew out all the submerged spark plug cylinders. 3 and were were filled to the top. Then I soaked it in marvin mystery oil for 3 hours and cranked it!!!!!

I got my FMIC today for EBAY...should I open the box and check for everything?

You said your couger gave you headaches, and you have no time to research, etc etc etc, yet you went out and bought a beat to sh1t DSM that has lots of missing pieces, loose wires, fluid in the engine, no turbo, no injectors, and you have NO CLUE about DSM's or what you're doing... Am I getting that right??!

Holy crap man... What is wrong with you?!?! If I knew you were throwing money in a trash can I would have gone to new york and got some!!

Sell the car.. Get a RUNNING stock DSM, and go from there.. Seriously. You will NEVER gain any ground going on ebay with a dollar and a dream and pulling up all these chinese ricer knock-off car parts..

You don't have time to research but you want to build a 500-600hp FWD, then convert it to an AWD?!!?!! Yet you don't even know the simplest little things about these cars?? Are you frickin out of your mind?? Day dream much?! Injector harness?! What are you talking about?! Do you mean the fuel rail?! Do you know how the injectors go in these cars? Do you know how ANYTHING goes in these cars?

Seriously - not trying to be an asshole - but get real.

Dude.. - sell the car, get a running one and you'll be 100% happier..
If you don't want to do that - find a local DSM guy who knows what the hell he's doing and see if he'll go over your car with you and tell you what you need to do.

Though I still say your best bet is to dump it. I can pretty much guarantee you'll never get this car running - and if you do, you'll have wasted thousands of dollars that could have gone towards a GOOD one.. Chalk it up as a loss.. Part it out and start again. Just get rid of it.
 
I agree with the claw.
But at least rip the motor out and rebuild it.

A simple compression test (that was suggested to you at the begiining of this thread), would have pointed you in the right direction a long time ago...

When you buy any car, if you don't hear the motor or tranny running, assume they are bad. Pay only what it's worth with them being bad.
I bet the guy you bought it from cut the injectors just so it couldn't start...

Good luck, Don't give up, just proceed using your head, not your right foot...

P.S. if it's water in your cylinders, your head is probably cracked. Youll need a new one...

Why there was water in the cylinders!

The car came with a hood but one not attached to it. The week before I bought the car, It rained heavily. The cover over spark plugs was not as tight as it looked AS WELL AS the spark plug wire was not installed right. Instead of overlapping and looking onto the outer rign there were inside outer ring there fore not sealed!

Cougar has injecotr harness....So does eclipse...four blue or black clips attachted to the engine hanress. Well theses four clips go to the four injectors. I need those. I bought a complete hanress. Don't want to hack it up and I don't want to spend all the time taking out the old one anr doing the "new" one. Worst comes to worst, I will do it if necessary. I have all my parts in...matter of time of cleaning the bay, and installing everything I HOPE.:rocks:

Also, I have having trouble in deleting WTB adds in DSMSOURCE.COM. I need to delete them to place new WTB ADDS.

How do I place WTB adds in these forums as well.
 
I've done some searching disreguard those last posts.

OK, the past two Wednesday's I've been working on the car.
Last Wednesday Unforze the motor.
This Wednesday, I wired in the injector plus, installed injectors into furl rail, bolted down fuel rail. Next, removed and grinded down Igniton (to get to the core of the HARDENED STEEL Bolts that can't be tapped, drilled (tried Diamond and Carbon Fiber tips) So I had to grind it to the point where I could unscrew it from underneath and the 2.d Just rip off the top part.

Installed new ignition. Hopefully Sunday, My buddy who has experience with turbos can come and help me out installing the FMIC and Turbo kit. I already prepped the bumper to fit the intercooler thanks to that great FAQ.

Questions...

The Driver's side Air pillar is missing, Due to loose wires looked like all 3 guages were hooked up to it.

I want to buy a tri-pod. Found a few on Ebay...made of Carbon FIber...SOLD

But what I want is All three guages with white Faces and Light up in Blue. I want to do the LEDs all in Blue so I don;t want to break it up.

I know the forums dislikes when I ask questions of this caliber are asked but I just have to. I am getting white face Guages with majority blue and Has red for peak and Kilo per hour. Should I get the white faces with RED or White Faces with Blue? Opinions?

I am getting guages from Autometer UNLESS anyone has them for grabs!
 
Or Just saw the post on Guages in the Bezel. Would it be better (view wise) To have the Guage pod in the Guage cover and then two in the a/c vent bezel. What other guages do I need besides. Boost, Volts, Oil, Fuel?
