I just parted out my heavily modified 99 Mercury Cougar due to the fact it would cost me 15,000 for it to achieve 342 Hp to the FW.

I just bought an 95 Gs-T, a recovered theft. So far from what is looks like...I need a full turbo kit (turbo, intercooler, piping, header/manifold, gaskets), I will need an Injectors and injector harness, Ignition wires, Spark plugs, Air kit, igniton (and key), as well as an antenna.

I am on a budget....so be kind....Here are a few things I am looking at...please chime in....All these items ARE A MUST...buying them used from a member here on the baords would be a plus

Turbo)
1)

2) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4G63-...QQcmdZViewItem

3) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mitsu...QQcmdZViewItem

Intake) Any recomendations, On the cougar platform...it did not matter what kind of intake you had b/c It all did the same job, just at a different price and a different name.
Also, I will need a box that will cover the intake(prevent heat soak) as well as There is a huge circle underneath where the intake would be...If I come across a puddle goodbye turbo and engine. Where Do I find one or Do I have to make my own? Do I need it?

3) Injectors...With any of these turbo application will I need to upgrade ther injectors? If so what size? Will the fit OEM injector harness?

4) fuel pump works but will need to be upgraded...How soon do I need it

5) What kind of Spark plug wires should I buy?

6) Antenna?

7) Ignition.

More to come as I further diagnoss this thing...I will post pics of car!

All help would be appreciated. If you have any of these parts and are for sale PM me.

ALL HELP AND .02 is appreciated! Please no criticism...I am a noob, I am doing this in between full time job and college summer classes. I will be junk yard hunting as well!:rocks:

He's right, mods don't like topic bumping at all. This site's adminitration has a very low tolerance for rules violations.

... something wrong with the old harness maybe... That's what I usually look for before replacing a part.

Why don't you just buy some injector clips and wire them in yourself? Ever heard of a junkyard?

Ok O, on the cougar forums we were allowed to bump Forsale threads, WTB Ads, and questions only if they weren't answered. Thought all foumrs are the same.

I went junkyard hunting the day after I bought the car. I came up literally empty handed! I did find a hit in front 99 Eclipse Gs, I wanted the antenna, but they wouldnt sell it me. They want to sell me the whole car.

I did find a member with the 4 injector clips. But I am not sure If I only need them. They are a few loose wires as well as sensors around the engine. Not sure where the go only maybe one or two. I know the engien hanress is hooked up to a resistor box and the engine. Due to time I've been in, under and around it twice. So I don't know where the resistor box is located. How many wires should be running into it? Should be running into the engine?

Bottom line.... wiring problems SUCK NUTS!

If there is any question about the condition of the engine harness, just replace it. The last thing you need is to put the car back together and find out you need to trace down a short. You'll want to shoot yourself. You also don't want to be left with possibly dangerous wiring hacks that this other idiot left you with. Just be safe, be smart, and do it right the first time around. Get the engine harness and you won't regret it later.

Just e-mailed a fellow dsmer who has a complete wireharness forsale fore a 2g.

This is the intercooler I might be closing on at the end of the week. My question is. I'm gttting the Evo 16G ported turbo with J-pipe etc...Where can I find hard piping that won't cost $330? I e-mailed a guy on EBAY. I did the ebay rtoute due to the FMIC thread. Also, I know we briefly discussed BOV and I was advised to use 14b (it held 20psi w/o leak). How about a the Turbo XS FFL BOV? If I get this intercooler, then I need piping hence I need tot ell them what plate/flange I need. I don't want to leak...so any rant or raves about this BOV. I will buy a venting BOV if someone has it used and fo the right price. Until then I will go a different route.

The "14b bov" (stock 1g bov) will hold boost fine. They can be found for less then $50. I would not spend money on and aftermarket BOV right now if you are on a budget. Get the stock 1g and be done with it.

Please tell me you know the deal with venting a bov. If not. SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH...
good luck

Just did a quick search b4 I go to work...What is a GM MAF (General Motors?) and a MAFT?
Be nice..I'm working all day...so don't throw jabs until I am home to digest em.

What inecotrs will i need to run a big evo 16g? Stock? 550? 650? 770?

The general consensus is that 650s will max out the EvoIII 16g. Seriously though, I know you say you're busy, but we all are, and you can find your answers even quicker if you just do a quick little search....you don't find anything, no problem, just post up the question then.

Thanks, I did the search on the GMAF and the GMAFt. But never seen no clear pics of installtion...Anyone did this themselves? DOes it go directly the b/w the BOV and intake?
THANK GOD THIS CAR IS 2 or 3 weeks at most hopefully to be cranked up!
Where can I get NEW STOCK PARTS AT A GREAT PRICE?

It will go somewhere in between the section of your intercooler piping that runs from the tb to the BOV. Many times you'll see them positioned right after the tb elbow.

Read the catch can thread...seems like there saying thats its a waste? No need for it?
Its 5:00 am, I just finished working a 60 hr week the day before.

I think everyone agrees a catch can is nessesary. Its just a matter of how you want to do it. That, no one can agree on.

After reading countless threads on the subject, that is precisely true.

Ok, so my car is coming down to the wire, parts are all ordered...waiting for my turbo kit (this week) and intercooler withhard piping next week. Thats should eb it for now. Plan on changin the t-belt as well as checking the timing and to see if all teeth are there. The hardest part I see is taking old the old half ass wireharness and putting the "new one".
My funds are getting exhausted...I've convinced my parents to buy me an alarm, tinits and turbo timer. Now, I talked to my buddy who works at a Avenue sound. Said I should get a viper alarm with a built in turbo timer. Run me like $500 with discount. Am I better off getting the alamr inlcuding the TT or Get an alarm with a HKS type 1 TT?

Any advice? Point me in a direction?

Also, can anyone find a how to on installing a compete turbo...I'm workin on it with a mechanic (owner of King Bear in my town). Just to make stuff ksher I want to be safe. I found a thread on FMIC install but not one on short route piping! PLEASE HELP

It's allready been mentioned many times but look on there, they have tons of tech articles that will help you with the turbo setup. As for the FMIC, are you saying you don't know how to install the piping or you don't have it at all? The FMIC kit I was talking about comes with short route piping and it's fairly straightforward on how to install it.

I dunno, it's really up to you, but if it were me, I'd just get the HKS Type 1 or some other TT really. I probably wouldn't mess with the alarm all together, but that's just me. My advice, throw in TT to protect your new investment and call it a day.

There was a thread going around saying once you have an alarm, then you get a turbo timer. It has to be proffessionally installed to go insyc with the alarm:confused:

So then why the the alarm that already has tt in it?

I'm not arguing with you what so ever...You've helped me a great deal...just need some info

I can't ask my friend b/c he is byiast. One he gets comission. Two all the cars he does this to are brand new cars that come with a Turbo in it that are just strictly luxury like audi's.

Also, the intercooler you recommended me. I e-mailed him countless times on what type of BOV is that set up for. I am assuming its a 2g but one of my friends says it looks like a 1g. Also you recommended a 1g BOV. But I am looking to purchase a nice BOV off the bat.

Ok, as far as the TT. I was talking about only getting a TT and not even fooling with an alarm system alltogether. You don't have to have an alarm system in order to get a turbo timer or vice versa. I was just recommending not even fooling with an alarm system because you allready have a lot on your plate.
Oooooh, I see why you think I was telling you to get both. When I said "My advice, throw in TT to protect your new investment and call it a day" I was referring putting in a turbo timer to help cool down the turbo after hard drives. It will protect the turbo in the sense of it failing pre-maturely from not getting sufficient cool down time, not from getting stolen. Hope that clears things up.

As for the ebay fmic. Go to this link:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/sho...age=49&highlight=let's+talk+ebay+intercoolers

Then just simply ask what the piping comes flanged for. People might get mad for you not searching the entire thread but it is like 50 pages long and I even searched for a bit and found nothing. So, just be polite and ask what it comes flanged for, they should definitely be able to tell you.

Were misunderstanding eachother.

1) For sure I want/need a TT.
2) For sure I need a high end alarm
3)Viper has an alarm with a built in TT.
4)If I were to get a standalone TT it would be HKS TYPE 1 then a separate alarm unit.

So my Question is....Get the alrm with built in TT or Alarm and HKS TT?
