I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gs Spyder, and since I have owned the car I have wanted to put a turbo and intercooler into it. My first question being what kind of engine would be in my car based on the fact it is a 4 cylinder; 2.0L engine? My other question is what websites, or suggestions would you give to where I could find a Turbo and Intercooler for my Eclipse? I have not been able to find one since I have bought the car. I am in the midst of changing it up and trying to give it more power so I am not running low 19's in the 1/4 mile.

Well your setting out on a long road. I would start by reading you can make a lot of stuff like intercooler piping or just buy kits you cut to fit. But stepping back there is a lot more to do than just putting a turbo and intercooler on it, you would need fuel system upgrades, fuel managment ect ect ect. I would start reading in the newb section see if you could find a project of somebody already do a n/a to T conversion. They may make a kit out there. You could check with companies like greddy they are typically expensive though for what your going to get.

The good thing is your starting out with a decent engine not the typical 2.0 that came in the non turbo 2g's its a 2.4l sohc 4cylinder I believe thats whats in your car, its called a 4g64. It can even accept a 4g63 cylinder head I believe which can make the after market turbo world a lot easier to deal with.

its all speculation though you should just start reading other peoples projects and find out what others are doing.

Theres alot of good info on this site and this one seems to cover some good material. Be prepared to put in some work and alot of reading if this is your first major project. Take your time with it and triple check everything you do and I'm sure it'll work out well for you.

There is a blog somewhere here. A guy is doing a swap. Look for it. Popped up a couple of times on the far left of the forum page. Goodluck!
