Ok, so here we go.. I just recently picked up my first dsm for $800, Its a 93 tsi awd. The car has a fmic, 3in turbo back exhaust and a small 16g. I put a walbro 255lph in the tank already and have some mods planned. OK so here they are
*evo 560cc injectors
*gm maf w/ translator
*dsmlink v3
*possibly 272 cams down the road
*mbc

So my question is would 300whp be possible and reliable with this setup?
Not trying to make the car crazy fast just want a reliable, well balance daily driver

well 300whp will make it less relaible seeing as your most likely running on around 200k miles. i guess most of it would depend on wether the previous owner has kept up on all the maintanence and also if you can as well. im sure that alot of problems will start popping up as all the parts on the car are most likely old. if you have the money id look into new rings and bearings for this and id change the timing belt for sure. thats just what i would do just from what happen to my car not 2 long ago. spun a bearing and threw a rod through the block come to find out the guy i bought it from didnt change the oil for 11k miles... ###n retard( my uncle sadly). just my opinion

The car has 140k on it and i forgot to mention I am doing a gates kevlar timing belt, and a cometic hg so hopefully it will hold up. I also forgot to mention the car has a pacesetter tubular turbo manifold, if that makes any difference.

With thoes mods u will reach 300hp. But be safe and check everything and don't run ## car fast for a little bit

If your going with DSM Link I would recommend some bigger injectors than just the 560's. Maybe some 650's or 750's that way you woln't have to buy injectors twice. You already have the pump to support them and will have link to tune with.

You can definently hit 300awhp with that setup. Its mostly gonna be in your tune.

I would make sure if you want to push it that far, to install a new composite Head Gasket, and ARP Headstuds.

And as everyone has said, timing belt is must. One little slip, or break, and thats 1000$ mistake.

You'll need an afpr to run the wally correctly. Other than that, I don't see why 300hp wouldn't happen.

definitely possible with the 272's

Just bought 272's. I can't wait to get them in.

I definitely agree with everyone saying to do some maintenance first tho. I didn't think my GSX was in bad shape at all when I bought it. It's 7 weeks later and I'm knee deep in a top end rebuild during the worst winter in New England in years. :D

I'd go with a wideband o2 sensor before spending the money on a MAF-T. the stock MAF is good for a reasonable amount of power, and as everyone said, a lot of the power/reliability will come from a good tune, which will be a lot easier with a wideband...
