car is maiing grinding noise from either trnasfer case or front diff

it was all rebuilt 1200 miles ago but needs new rings already!?!? and i have no idea what the sound is like. any advice? thanks and sorry for the long thread

If it was built 1200 miles ago, and it needs rings, something is very wrong, or someone don't know what they are talking about. Does it run. if so take it for a drive, and see how bad it is. If the rings are bad pull the spark plugs and see if they are soaked in oil, if so they are shot. :thumb:

yea i dont get the rings are blown already... that and the anonymous noise scare me

any here run a setup close to that cars? the 60-1 and 800's? a guy i used to work with actually had the 60-1 turbo on his 95 mustang... it was a little fast to say the least

I don't think I like the noise and the set-up sounds more show then go unless he was trying to build a real race car. but then why skimp on some of the parts. Sounds strange to me. but go take a look, thats the best bet. Good luck on finding a DSM mine took me almost 2 months.

yea i dont really want his set up as it is.. i figure if it runs and looks clean to me ill buy it and swap the parts from my 1g. ( external dump gate, td06 20g, 272 cams, etc.) i never really heard anyone runnin the 60-1 turbo tho. if anyone has it or knows someone with it id like to hear bout it
