New style Cf hood

I bought one of these. I had all intentions to install it untul I took to to the bodyshop (For the AEROCATCH pins) The hood is not even close to fitting. I am returning it... Also, CHASER.... (aerokits.net) does not have it listed on their website any longer. This thing is just horrible. Great looking design..... HORRIBLE FIT! I am looking for a company that actually has a GOOD 2GOEM CF hood!:thumb:

NOOO I don't want my hood to become the norm LOL. Well since cat's out the bag I will let you guys take a look. I don't have it installed yet but I'm gonna place it on and mock fit it tonight so people can see what it looks like but here's pics I took when it came in the mail. I ordered from Key composites group the company that sells them on ebay. Like H8ter said other comapnies are trying to make it but sounds like they make crap knock offs. Mine is beautiful and I loved the look cause as you can see not a lot of people know about it. I talked to the guys over there baout making carbon fiber other stuff. If you keep a good eye the same company does doors in cf and fenders i'm waiting to get both. Anyway nuff talk.

Maybe I was not clear.. KeyComposites is the same as Chaser.... I have the same hood...Be careful. IT DOES NOT FIT.... It looked good until I tried to fit it.

It's the same... Honeygo drive... in Maryland. The one Slippi pictured is a glass version.

I will post pictures of it when I get him... Sorry but they will be with a cell phone.

I am Slippi and what is a glass version??? You mean it has a clear coat and one doesn't because I wasn't talking about that being why they look diffrent. You are right though they are located on honeygo. Well like I said when I get home I will take pics. Could you do the same so we can see where yours doesn't fit. You said something about 2 waves or something too what were you talking about?

The waves I was refering to is in the CF it's self. The one you linked to was a fiberglass hood. I will try and get a decent picture with my GF's camera... Also, let me know how yours turned out.

Ok I"m not as impressed as I was before but it does fit not perfect like stock but it does fit. The main thing which I hope you didn't do which had me like  at first. The vent covers underneath HAVE to be taken off or it won't fit. I though it was a option to keep them on but I was wrong they come down to farand on a 2gnt car hit the ecu backet on the diver side. but the bolt wholes and latch all line up. Crazy ligh compared to stock anyway here you go.

No mine was the same on te passenger side there is def a little gap between the hood and teh fender it's just hard to see from those pics. Everything else was cool. I have to take that underneath cover before it will go all the way down. My strut tower bar and ecu and bracket hit it. It's liveable and it looks bad ass and new so either way I'm still keeping it.

The outer edge of my hood near the fender actually slope down to almost a 45 degree angle ...You couldn't see it in the pics.. Also... In my pic the hood latch was removed.

Yeah fit is def not perfect and I will hit the m up with pictures so they can adjust them for later on down the line but it's still in my opinion the best style CF hood I have seen.

It does clear... Just as long as you remove the trays that are screwed to the underside.

did either of you guys have to modify the hood latch so the hood would close? Or did you just take it out and use hood pins?

I heard him say he took his out I can't remember but I could have sworn it was built in. I just took the covers underneath off and it was cool but I have hood pins i'm using too after reading another thread on here about CF hoods flying up and what not :notgood:

Well bad news if you have a 420a 2g eclipse this hood will not fit even with the covers off. I'm gonna be ok bbecause I'm ordering my MSnS either today or tomorrow and my ecu will be getting moved to inside the car but if you have stock ecu and don't know how to or plan on moving it or securing it with another style bracket it will hit the hood and not close.:(
