Tried starting the car today after finishing everything up. Timing was WAY off and ran as if it were missing. Everything in it is new. Motor, tranny, etc. etc. Not sure if it'd be a problem with one of my MAFTpro settings or an ecu problem maybe?

It's a 94 car and using a 91 ecu. The 94 ecu was an eprom ecu, the 91 that's in it now isn't. Could this be it? Tried changing the CAS, and even tried turning it 180 degrees out. Changed plug firing order, grounded the timing plug, checked all the pro settings. Speed Density, IAT, AEM wideband. Mods are 2.3 liter, T-67 turbo, Comp 101400 cams, Built head with 1mm oversized valves, 1000cc injectors, AEM FPR set at 43.5 psi with hose off, SMIM intake, bored throttle body, etc. etc. etc. The timing light picks up the mark on the bottom side of the crank pulley

How are you compensating for the 1000cc injectors?
WIth those big cams and no compensation for the injectors, you will have a hard time getting it to idle under 1500rpm. I wasn't much help:coy:

Well, even when pressing down on the gas it's not running right. Couldn't find the timing mark with the light as it was running. Once my buddy layed down on the ground while I was pressing on the gas to keep it running, the mark was being lit up on the bottom side of the pulley....which isn't right.

If a car originally had an ecu with an eprom and swapped out to a ecu without an eprom, would it make a difference?

As for compensating, I'm not yet. Have the mainscale at 0 and loads at 0......for now.

The 91 ecu is fine. Your car could be way out of tune and will idle/ rev pretty rough till you get it alittle closer. You are checking timing from the number 1 plug wire correct? What kind of timing light are you using? Some are adjustable and im just trying to make sure everything with the timing light is correct.

I helped a little bit with the car today and the timing light is definetly working the way it should. it was tested on a working 95gsx. its really weird that no matter how much they move the cas the timing stays EXACTLY the same.....

Yeah, it's on the number 1 plug wire. We even swapped the plug wires around. Used a spark checker and all the plugs are getting spark.

Another thing I did was disconnect the Speed Density harness from the harness that the stock Maf plugs into and it didn't change anything at all. Ran just the same  Trying to eliminate everything we can think of.

As far as the wiring of the MAFTpro, I didn't wire the orange wire of the 10 pin connector to the ecu harness as the manual says. I wired it to my AEM wideband (orange wire) instead. Can't think of anything else.

Just not sure if it's the MAFTpro, the ecu, or something totally different but can't think of anything else. The MP was right at 100 with key in on position, TPS are 0.52, and MT was at about 80. Getting 9 counts of steady knock trying to keep it running while checking the timing so finally stopped for the day.
