Hey guys. Ive lurked this forum for long enough. I figured it is finally time become a member. I also wanted to join because I believe I once came across a section where people posted 1/4 mile numbers and their mods that matched. I think I wasn't able to see that as a non-member. but if you know what im talking about feel free to send me a link ;)

I have 2 goals for my car. 1: have an evo 3 16g to max potential without having to do a build (I have the turbo, i just need to put it on). Only lame thing about that is im located in az and only have close proximity to 91 octaine :( so im open to water/meth injection. I would like to be at the max power/quick spool/ reliability (and this is also a weekend warrior) any ideas on numbers such as hp/torque/quarter mile times, i can expect at this stage feel free to chime in. My second goal is to within the next 6 years to do a full build with only quality parts and get up to 500awhp.:rocks:

Wow that was some really nice runs. Thanks for sharing the video. I love the fact that Its possible that its possible to hit 10s with this turbo! I wish they listed more of what they did like e85 or meth injection.

Welcome to the forums, it's customary to post photos of your car, let's see it!

Matt

Not to burst anyone bubble but don't expect to run 10's with a 16g.

With pump gas, a realistic goal for a 16g is around 300-350hp. I can tell you from experience that 91 octane is not high boost/small turbo friendly whatsoever. If you have a legit Evo 3 16g (check the serial number) that will make it a tad easier, but not much. So water/meth is definitely a good idea.

Welcome to the club. Only a few people have made big numbers on a 16g. The average joe makes around 320hp on pump gas with one. You might want to rethink your turbo for 500whp. Also most of the guys getting 10 second quarter mile times out of a 16g are either auto or running e85/racegas and a low race weight.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys! Really glad to finally be a part of this community. I just posted a few pictures. I am not sure if you can see them on my profile or not. My car sadly has no front bumper (put a new one is placed against the car in the pic LOL), and has a nasty rattle can matte job. Hope you guys can see it. As far as appearance goes (since we are on the topic, i'm thinking of dipping it army green. I have yet to see it on a 2g, and think it could look sick! if you have seen it somewhere please do share a pic)

Thanks for the good thoughts on the 16g. Actually for my "stage 1" goal i wasn't really thinking of using the same turbo for when I move up to get to the big boys 500 club, but I do think its rad that some people have done it (10s with the 16g). When I do my build I want an FP (not sure which one though. Black probably?)

For my first stage mods I really am just thinking of 16g water/meth injection, 660cc injectors, ECM Link (I already have a 190lph fuel pump, fpr, big fmic, Hallman MBC, and exhaust). I also just got an NGR type S in the mail, and am probably going to be ordering some ngk spark plug wires this week. So I figure as long as all that keeps me under 400hp I will be a happy camper. I will just be happy with a good balance of reliability and power (especially low spooling will be fun).

All said and done with the amount of mods on your car after being tuned you'll be around 300ish on 91 octane. If you want upgrade to a wally 255 as well.
