Help reaching my performance goals

Hey guys just deciding if i can do 400awhp or 450awhp, let me know what you guys think!

-SBR 60 trim turbo
-SBR exhaust manifold
-Tial BOV
-extreme turbo systems FMIC kit
-MAFT
-GM 3" MAF
-FIC 650cc injectors
-walboro 255lph
-B&M fuel pressure regulator
-Megan DP and full 3" exhaust
-high flow cat
-Bushur Racing SS o2 housing
-S-AFC 2

forgot to add that i have the ACT 2600 w/street disc and also the ACT streetlite flywheel.... ASLO i'm having Isaac Hurst tune my car!!!

how much do you think i can do safely? is 50whp going to work the motor that much harder??? let me know!

even if you get there you better start worrying about your bottom end if it's stock; drivetrain might also suffer some abuse.

it will take a lot of boost to get to 400whp, especially 450whp.

Larger injectors, a clutch is a must, and just get rid of the SAFC and get a DSMlink since you have the $$ to drop on all that other stuff. Your bottom end will not be happy with you if you plan on keeping it stock, as you will eventually find out.

Stock six-bolt bottom-end is MORE than capable of handling 450awhp. People have taken them over 500whp before. I'd worry much more about your fuel and tuning system.

You'll soon realize that instead of spending a lot of time and money to achieve a specific horsepower goal, you'll be spending a lot of time and money trying to keep your car running. Your dream mod list needs a lot of work to support the power you are thinking about. Do some research and you'll be able to figure it out for yourself. If you want somebody to hold your hand and show you exactly what to do, you bought the wrong damn car.

haha yeah. You know what that list needs? A Shep Tranny, Drive Shaft Shop Axles, Drive Shaft Shop Drive Shaft or a Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft, ACT2600 Clutch, XACT Flywheel. Make sure you have a good foundation. Stock clutch discs will get shredded with that much horse power, I know from experience and stock drive shafts can get twisted. Have STRONG support for the mods you're adding.

-FIC 650cc injectors (id go 720cc at least)
-walboro 255lph (okay)
-B&M fuel pressure regulator (piece of crap trust me go with a good 1:1 afpr)
-Megan DP and full 3" exhaust (okay)
-high flow cat (okay but id go cheap and get a test pipe)
-Bushur Racing SS o2 housing (okay)
-S-AFC 2 (go with dsmlink)

- drivetrain Spec Stage III clutch
- 4 bolt rear
- just to be safe rebuild the bottom end forged stuff or if you cant afford that cryo treating is a small option but more of a bandaid
- 272/272 cams
- boost controller
- all the gauges necessary

that should hold you till 450whp but you have to make sure you have someone to tune the car. For some strange reason in the beginning of this thread i get the feeling that you dont know much about tuning the car.

i think he means that you dont "need" most that stuff with 450whp yes you will have to upgrade the clutch, but the axles, driveshaft, tranny will handle that. Yes that is a good investment later down the line but i think the guy just wants to make the 450

Yes I can elaborate. Clutch and flywheel are all that is needed. Stock axles, driveshaft and transmission have been taken over 700whp. I don't see the point of upgrading something that isn't broken. Unless you have $5,000 to drop on your drivetrain just to feel safe then it is a waste of money until you actually need it.

So you post some bs about needing $5000 in drivetrain mods for a 450whp car, then you change your mind when somebody points out that you don't need those things. Your off to a good start. It's funny you picked the "whatever" smiley, that's exactly what I was thinking when I read that bs post.
