New headliner and visors

I just redid my headliner and wanted to do the visors another day, but I read somewhere that the 2g visor tends to crack when opened up?

Do you have any suggestions?

I too am curios about the sun visors. I have the fabric to do my 3 2gs and Ive done the headliner before but tried to open up the visors and failed. Any tips??

I used a long flat-head screwdriver. Put it all the way down into the visor, and gently pried it open to break the glue in that spot. Repeat all the way down the visor until all the glue is broken.

You could also try a heat gun to warm the glue up first. I didn't, but its something you could try.

After the visors were wrapped, I resealed with Gorilla glue.

The only thing I don't like is that the pattern has "waves" in it. But I would think if you use a plaid cloth for your interior it would be really hard to keep the pattern dead straight. I'm just a little overly OCD about that type of thing. haha.

I like it though! That minor detail aside. Kinda makes me wanna find a black and grey plaid and do my visors.

Since the surfaces weren't flat, it was impossible to get it perfectly straight. I certainly tried, LOL.

I guess I'll just have to go at it, but I'm going to look around for a different fabric since the one I use for the headliner is a bit thick to use on the visors.

Gorill glue huh? I figured the adhesive spray wouldn't be strong enough to hold the two sides of the visor together.

what did you use to glue the fabric in place? i have elmers spray adhesive LOL

My top door inserts are done.Headliner 1/3 done.Bottom door panels are getting there.

Under the console inserts are also getting redone, ran out of adhesive.

FYI Contact cement isn't the best choice for vinal, but after it dries properly, is fine.

Very nice job, this looks insane!!!!

I would of done another color, but hey we all like different colors and have different ideas!

Awesome job!! +1

^ Yeah a bit too different for my taste, but it looks like you did a good job!

Once I find time, I'll re-do mine, didn't put enough adhesive and the visors still need to be fixed.

Took mine a step further. I deleted my visors. As much as I love homelink, I hate my visors being used even more. It's like being at the movies and having my view blocked by someone's dome piece. Any who. More will be done. Ordering my black carpet and not one single interior piece will be stock colored. Plastidipped underneath my dash. The rest will be Krylon fusion. Notice my step further?
