new head and head gasket... wont seal, pissing white smoke

Ok so at first my car was smoking alittle bit and was not running to its full potential. I pulled the head off and the gasket was blown but not that bad. So i ordered a new head gasket, Arp head studs, and had the head rebuilt... I put everything back together and it smokes MORE then it did before and dosent pull at all. so i figured it was because i heard the 4 layer gaskets dont always seal unless the surfaces are perfect. So i then pulled the head again and installed a composite gasket hoping it will seal. BUT IT DIDNT. Everything was torqed down correctly as well. So now i have no idea whats wrong.. 2 brand new headgaskets didnt seal. I mean the head was just resurfaced and all that junk so i dont think it can be warped... When i pull the plugs i can see that the top of the pistons are wet, .. Im dumbfounded? maybe my block needs to be decked? it seems fine with a straight edge.....

well if anyone has any info or can help me please let me know what you think.. the car has nothing after 4500 rpm, feels like a slipping clutch... or a giant boost leak, but its neither.

waiting for a compression tester off my buddy, and gonna have it leak down tested... its weird though ,motor was fine before i put the rebuilt head on (they were 150 across) now i gotta find out what they are now.
 
Maybe the head is cracked and leaking coolant into the combustion chamber?

If the surfaces check out with the straight edge, and there's no deep scratches, the gasket really should seal. You could try some copper spray, that might help fill in inperfections.
 
If you had the head done and resurfaced I would think that the machine shop checked the head for cracks when they were doing work on it. If you rae not sure you should call them and make sure. That will eliminate that. It doesn't sound like a head warp if that was just resurfaced so I would say you need to take that straight edge and go buy a low cost set of feeler gauges and see how much warpage there is in the block surface
 
Did you ever figure out what the problem was? Sorry for bringing this back but I'm having the same problem.

I replaced the stock HG when I put my arp's in with a topline hg and it held up well for a while on 28psi on a 20g. Well it blew and was running on 3 cylinders and blowing out massive amounts of white smoke. Tore it down and replaced the HG with a felpro. It didn't seal at all. Instead of just having coolant in one cylinder, it was in all four!??

I took it all apart again and checked the felpro over and it looked fine. So I sprayed copper sealant on it and reassembled it. Now it smoke a ton on start up but quits when it warms up. But coolant is actually leaking out of the exhaust ports!!??? Both surfaces look perfect and I am just using composite gaskets so I don't see why they aren't sealing properly. Any input will be greatly appreciated!
 
Pressurize the coolant system and look for the leak. Once you know where it is you'll be able to figure out why it's leaking. Changing parts wont fix a thing. Performing the proper diagnostics will save you time, money and hassle.
