So i installed a new ics titan headgasket on a 4g63T, its got ARPs and i had no moly lube so i used 30 weight oil. I pured some on the studs and nuts and i guess some of it got in between the head and block and squezzed out when i was torquing the head down. My guess is that now i might have a very small film of oil on the gasket, will this hurt the head sealing properly? Or will it burn away after a few heat cycles?

Ahh, why would you pour the oil on it? First mistake.
I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't seal well.

Well, i wanted to get the threads lubed but guess i over did it. I thought about it good and hell im just gonna suck it up and remove the head, clean up everything and start all over.

Yeah, definitely pull it apart and redo it. Just a little oil can make it leak.

Definitely need absolutely no oil on the surfaces...

On a side note... .

Have you used a ICS Titan headgasket before?

I took out the head and cleaned up all the surfaces as best i could. I got everything looking dry and this time i smothered the threads with my finger of oil, i torqued all down to 120lbs and looks good. I have used the ICS Titan before with moly lube and didnt make a mess like i did now but last time it sealed great even though i had only resurfaced the head. Its a kick ass gasket

Not trying to start a debate on this... . But, I was Just wondering if you were aware of All the steps involved with installing one. They Can work great but also can fail relatively easy as well... . kinda hit or miss

Yeah, i did mine on my car long ago. I know it should be installed with head and block clean, no spray needed, and needs to be retorqued after a heat cycle followed with a complete cool down. I had everything installed, timing and all on this one when i noticed the oil. I did not want to redo all my work again so i was double questioning my self but its gotta be done right. Ive read the very few threads about this gasket and many dont specify how they installed it and just say its no good. It turned out good for me last time and it better turn out good again or else il be eating my words haha
