I have a small leak from my exhaust manifold were it hooks up the the turbo. I bet a new gasket can fix the problem because I cannot see any cracks or anything on the mani. Now that I am going to be taking the mani off(well at least a some bolts) do you think I should just get a new high flow one? I have the stock t25 turbo now but I eventually will be getting a 16g (not sure what size yet). My goal HP/trq would be 300-350. What do you think I should do?

It flows almost as much as an EvoIII b16g and costs the same (and for all of the others who jump on here and say it's cheaper, they're probably forgetting about the install kit that you need). Then I'd port both (mani and turbine housing) to a 7cm^2 gasket match. You can buy the FPB28 pre-ported, but that adds $100. I'm not sure if the evo3b16g is already 7cm^2 or not. If it's not, I'd guess it'd be $100 to port it as well. But the evo turbo is a potential problem for inspection.

But until you're ready to upgrade your turbo, just stick with the stock setup.

The EvoIII 16g has a 7cm^2 turbone housing already :sneaky:
So it saves you $100 in porting right there.

Guess what its also cheaper :p
Heres the EvoIII 16g w/ install kit

Heres the FPt28

It doesnt require a core charge either so you can keep the T-25

Hadn't seen that turbo before. Do you happen to have the compressor map for it? I'm wondering what it looks like compared to an evo3 big 16g. A bit pricey, though.

It looks to be basically a Big28 with a Garrett 71mm 52 trim compressor wheel installed, rated for 40 lb/min at 14.7 psi.

Closest I can "figure" is that its a version of this GT2871 turbo, but in a journal bearing version:

I'd guess its about equal to an 18g/7cm with an unclipped TD05H turbine wheel, from the looks of it. Yeah, it is kind of pricey, but it is damned stealthy. If you figure the install costs with an 18g, its within $100 of FP's 18g/TD06SL2. Plus the spoolup would be quicker. I'm going bigger but figured I'd throw that out there.

I have a tubular powder coated exhaust mani...it sucked and cracked.

I already have the 2G manifold...now I just need to get it ported and installed.

I have the evo BOV now, and I like how normal it looks:D. I have a intake coming now and it will stick out, like a soar thumb, but at least it may throw people off a bit, make me look like one of those guys that only does a intake. As far as exhaust goes, I saw this eclipse a while back who took off the stock exhaust and cut the dual tip off, then welded the tip to a high flow 3 inch turbo back. Unless you go under the car you have no idea. I was thinking about doing something like that.

That block looks very clean 1G90AWDTsi. How much are you planning on getting out of that?

The block is new, not a rebuild. I'm quite new to the dsm's but I'm hoping for at least 330 hp. I got a 16g, hks cams, lots of porting and shaving, forged internals, 750cc injs, dsmlink. Haven't tuned it yet.
thanks!
