Got a Punishment Racing budget manifld to go on my small 16G on order (it should actually be here in the next day or 2). Simple question for you all: should I be replacing the gasket(s) from the manifold to my engine and manifold to turbo?

Thanks for advice :)

Yeah you should replace it.

Whenever you take something off that has a gasket, you should replace the gasket. :thumb:

^^^^+1 he is 100% correct!

You can always use the old ones but more than likley you will be sorry just get the new gaskets.

Quick question, and 2 lightning quick responses!

Next dumb question: are the stock gaskets from Mitsubishi fine for mani-engine and mani-turbo?

If it were me I would get the steel gasket. If I were to have a exhaust manny I would get the good gaskets. thats my opinion

Yes.

I would just take a trip to a Mitsubishi Dealer and pick up some new gaskets.

We used the stock gaskets on my friends GSX and they have been working fine.

^^ What he suggested above will work great too!

The stock mitsu gaskets will work fine if the flanges/head are flat and true. The 4 layer metal exhaust manifold gaskets are extra insurance for a good seal. If you want to, go down to the local car store (Advance Austo, Pep Boys, etc.) and pick up some copper spray. Spray the gasket with it for an even better seal.
