I hope I didn't miss this on here because this is about a month old. I dont want to repost old. Bw is releasing new s200e and s300e turbochargers. They are basically journal bearing efr's with some of the "value added" features missing. I.e. No solenoid or bov but they do have the shaft speed casting.

this is exiting news to me. I really like Borg warners journal bearing system. I'd never ever spend the money in a bb setup, its just a waste to me. It exiting to see a manufacturers premium aero available separately from their premium bearing. Also, I have no experience with the newer efr stuff, but in the past I've always felt bw exhaust wheels and housings were more suited to high performance than Garrett or mhi stuff.[DOUBLEPOST=1418099963][/DOUBLEPOST]Damn these turbos sound awesome and no one has an opinion. I figured the the way I worded the title might make think its some lame electric turbo thread and skip it.

Haha, that is what I was thinking of e turbo. But that really is exciting if they offer the new gamma titanium turbine wheel and new aero comp wheels. Half the weight of inconel should be some quick spool times. I'm going to have to look into them, hoping the stainless steel turbine housing is an option as well. Could you school me on bw journal bearing design ( why is it better) and what is the shaft speed section? Good info man thanks!

The s300sxe is already out apparently in 66mm. It has a gamm-ti turbine apparently and shaft speed compressor cover. As far as the bw bearing system, I like the bearing package on the bw. Its just like the old schwitzer turbos that they evolved from. They are very robust.. In a time when we as a community didn't have proper oiling on our minds, I use to run these turbos hard at track sessions and never lost a turbo in about 10 years. I had no clue how to care for a turbo other than have a straight big drain, and cool it down. In fact I had a 62mm that I used on 2 cars for 7 years straight that was as tight as the day I bought it. I haven't had that kind of luck with other turbo manufacturers, and I've used them all except a holset that I only used for a few months. I don't like bb turbos. I had a 3582, when they first hit, and wasn't impressed. It replaced that 62mm sxhwitzer for a short time did not outperform it in a single criteria. Way back in the day I had an efi systems pms, and it had a really modern boost control strategy for the time. Your could really get good responce out of a turbo with their solenoid they sold. The bb turbos just don't offer any real advantage to me other than they get packaged with the best aero usually from the OEMs.
