Need to know what goes in this hole.

I Was getting ready to drop my engine in and saw this hole. Looks like I can just block it with a bolt. Any suggestions? motor is a 1g 7bolt.

Its hard to tell from the picture but is the hole a taper thread for a pipe plug? Does it go into the oil galley or water pasage? More pictures would help identify it.
