Resolved Need to confirm rods are installed correctly. Picture inside!

Ok, So I threw this motor together and now i'm second guessing myself. I started the car once already and the #1 rod spun the bearing immediately.
I have fresh bearings going in but before I button up the oil pan, I need to verify I installed the rods correctly.
I'm freaking out since this happened and this is my daily driver. From what I saw, the way my rods are installed, they are backwards. The 'tang' on the rod side is on the same side as the exhaust but if the crank spins clockwise, the 'tang' isn't stopping the bearing by using the tang, its stopping the bearing by shoving the tang down and pinching the crank which is bad... I hope people can follow this.

I would also like to know which direction the crank spins when its running.
From what I figure out so far, the crank in spinning clockwise when you're looking at the crank pulley on the driver side.

I dont remember which way I situated the rods, I thought they were going in the right way. How can I tell from under the car looking up?

It really shouldnt matter which side the tangs are on as long as both tangs, rod and cap, are on the same side. The caps need to lined up correctly with both tangs in the same direction. The rods are honed so the caps must be put on the same way they where honed. Otherwise the bearing will be out of round if the caps are on backward to the rod. the valve reliefs on the top of the pistons and how rods are mounted on the pistons; that is really going to direct which side the rod bearing tangs are on.

If your tangs are on opposite sides that might be why your spinning bearings.

The engine spins clockwise. Only spin the timing belt in that direction. Other wise you could loosen up the timing belt and smack valves on pistons.

Lettering on the rods (for stock rods/pistons) face the front of the engine. The tangs are on the exhaust side, which means what you have pictured is correct. The oiling hole is on the exhaust side as well.

The engine also spins clockwise at the crank pulley

Also it is extremly important that the caps go on the rod it cam off of in the exact same direction it came off of you will spin bearings like you have said

you should also check clearences with plasi gauge to make sure you have correct oil clearence you might be just drying out bearing and rod with the correct cap in the correct direction is very critical.
