Need some advice on new car

So i picked up a 1g talon for dirt cheap. Had no motor in it. But everything else was there. Anywho, my question is. The car was running on a MAFT with a GM maf, a SAFC, and E85. Now, for the time being-seems as how my cash flow wont support a new turbo motor- I am gonna run my buddys newly rebuilt NT 4G63.

What issues am i gonna have with the SAFC, the MAFT, and the E85? I was pretty much just gonna pump the fuel out of the tank, but i am kinda worried about running the other two things on a NT car. Mainly cause i have never used either.

Car i bought is a 1991 talon tsi. No motor.
Car i will be taking parts from-1991 eclipse NT but has the 4G63

Any advice would be great.

Are you going to be turboing that N/T 4G63?

I will not be turboing the na motor. Just gonna stay na till i get my block built.

the safc and the maft translator, are used to trick your ecu into the amount of air entering you engine, which in turns controls your injector pulses. you can keep both of them on there, and wired in, you will just have to tweak it.

also, with the ecu, i am almost positive that you will have to swap a n/t in it, since the maps are different for a turbo car vs. n/t car.


tuning a safc is like eating cake. do a little bit of research on it, and you will be fine.

I know i will have to switch ecu's. I figured that was different. I will have to look into the SAFC and the MAFT. Hopefully i wont screw anything up.
