I know millions of people asked this question but everyone is different. There is a GST in Queens that is being sold on the forums for 700 bucks (look in the classifieds section) Its a 90 GST. I eventually wanna get a GSX which will ###### be a 2g, but I also would like to get into RR down the road. Is a GST good for RR? And all in all, besides the AWD on the GSX, and the traction loss on the GST, whats are the differences after being worked on? I appreciate it, thanks.

The GST ways much less than a GSX. Also the GST will be better for racing from a roll. unlike the GSX. I will still go with GSX because of the AWD launch is incredible and no traction loss.

Hope that helped. Stay boostin :thumb:

From what I've been told from a heavy DSM enthusiast on my forum [www.wanganmidnight.com], is that the GS-Ts will handle better, and are lighter, at the sacrifice of some traction. Keep in mind he owns and autocrosses a 1G Talon TSi AWD. Notice a lot of road-racing DSMs are FF, case in point, Collier's yellow Laser RS on the front page, and calendar for 2006. From what I understand, that car and setup own the tracks he races [due in no small part to Collier's driving experience and technique].

I'm not saying GS-Xs aren't great handlers, mind you - there were two GS-X Eclipses in SCC's 2003 Ultimate Street Car Challenge, and they both put up one hell of a fight [one was a 1G, other was a 2G]. Lost to a super'd 350Z, but that's beside the point.

As with differences when it comes to being modified, the GS-X will always be quicker off the line, or in traction-compromised areas. The GS-T sacrifices some grip, to gain in weight redux, and neutral-throttle handling characteristics [helped greatly with an LSD].

It's all personal preference as to which you want - I feel the driver should learn the positives and keep from exploiting the negatives, of any car he drives. In that respect, even the most outclassed underdog has a chance.

Hope that sheds some light for you.

Thing is, my preference is non-existant, Ive not drove one or the other.

Actually, lemme ask this question. Say I get that car, it isnt running, BUT lets say I get it running and it costs me 1500 altogether, is it worth the gamble? Not saying theres a bad chocie for getting that GST, but I just wanna hear some opinions. Id keep it either way, LOL.

depends on how much you could get a first gen gsx for, but chances are even that would need some work. i know you said you wanted a 2ng gen gsx but i do believe first gens weigh less than the second gens and have better motors if you could get over the stylying preference of yours. id say get a first gen gsx personally.

It is worth it for $700. Put a little money into it and a good cleaning and wax and you could probably get like $1000-1500 for it. Then use that towards getting the 2nd gen.
I bought a crx for $800, cleaned it inside and out put a intake and some cheap motegi 15's on it and got $3200 for it. There is always someone out there willing to buy anything. ROFL

I know, I think of him as a role-model. Ive always wanted to race in circuits since I was 8 ;). (Thanks Gran Turismo)

But all aside, the guy decided to fix it, and sell it for 2300, sucks for me :(. What are good cars to fix up and sell? Oh yeah, I wouldnt sell that GSX anyways LOL, Like the Pokémon motto, "Gotta catch 'em all!". Oh yeah, another point is that I also live in a rich area, so I dont think alot of people would wind up buying these lower end cars, but maybe I can put up a ad in school or something. Who knows.

Well that was only 9 years ago. LOL. Jesus, I was born the sme year the the 1st Eclipses were being manufactured. LOL.

Holy Crap! That sure didn't make us feel any better! At least I was only just getting into highschool when you were born. At any rate...good luck with your searches.

Hahaha you guys are old farts. Ah enough poking fun at you guys, first of all, Happy Holidays, and second of all, any of you rich enough to get me a christmas present and a birthday present, since its two days after christmas ;), *ahem* a GSX? Lol, but really, thanks for your help youll see me around again. I hope I get "her" :dsm: before summer...

GS-T's are a dime a dozen, GSX's are much harder to find.
You can say that again. When I was looking for my first GSX, I found at least 10 GS-T's. It took me about four months to find me first 2g GSX; and that was 180 miles away from my house. My 2nd GSX was the same situation took me about 2 months to find and I found like at least 3 GST's every week or so.

But the waiting and long drives to get them both were both worth the wait. :thumb: :thumb:
