need some advice on parts

i am rebulding my motor wit the pistons that where in it and id was wondering what piston ring to get i was looking at je rings but they say they only fit je pistons. i am on a budget and cant afford pistons yet. the car will have a holset hx35 on it .

Hasting rings will work fine. Local machine shops will be able to get you some or you can order from vendors.

is there any difference between the rings for a 1g and 2g

YES!. I believe that the second ring isn't as deep on a 2g piston than it is on a 1g engine. Stock rings most be chosen for the right year/generation. Most aftermarket(forged stuff) companies use the same ring set for all there pistons they make for that car.

i was looking for the rings you suggested and all i found was 2g ring sets
