Hey guys was needing a little help. i just replaced my water pump and went to start it up and the little timing belt looking belt broke , i am guessing it drives the oil pump?? was just wondering if any of you could tell me what this belt is called or if you know where i could buy the belt, also i marked my timing belt but it must of jumped because now the car spits when trying to fire, question is will that little oil belt?? also cause the spitting problem? car ran great for 5 - 10 seconds then im guessing the timing belt jumped a notch and either popped or back fired and broke the littler belt urrr dsm's rock =)) any help would be appreciated

Theres two belts the main timing belt, and the balance shaft belt.

Note that if you change the water pump, you must change both belts timing belt and balance shaft belt, and timing components like, idler pulley, tensioneir pulley, and the haudralic tensioner, balnce shaft tensioner pulley.

Yup, that is the belt thanks so much guys. One more question is that belt timed right along with the timing belt?

The balance shaft has to be in a certain position along with the cams and oil pump. There are procedures all over the place on how to do it. hopefully you didn't bend any valves. The only cheap way to find out is to put the belts back properly and do a compression check.

finally got all timing marks lined up on both beltd changed the crank position sensor put all back together now no spark or i mean the car isnt firing, i pulled the first spark plug and grounded it to see if there was spark, nothin.. any help guys?

one little bend in the plate would that cause the no firing problem?? i am going back to the parts store tomorrow and exchanging the sensor just to make sure i didn't get a faulty one but yes a little small indent on the plate that's on the crankshaft not to bad tho i could easily bend back in
