i have a 96 talon and i have a 6bolt motor in my car but i cant get the timing belt to stay lined up can i get some help please

What part is losing tension? Make sure you take all the slack out of it from the crank to the intake cam, then hang it over the exhaust cam with no slack between the gears. The only place there should be slack is on the front side of the belt between the exhaust cam and the crank...then you can put tension on it and it will hold everything else tight.

If its the exhaust cam that is moving, some people can line up the timing mark a bit under the intake mark and when you put tension on it will bump it into alignment.
