ok i am new to the site and this is my first dsm i came from the honda scene and i understand what ov means and tb and ic ut all the other stuff i am reading about on this site i dont understand which is a big problem because i am doing my homework on the stock 1g turbo system because mine is spooling way to soon and hitting like 14 psi at 3500rpm causing fuel cut, and lowing hot air i am trying to drop the boost ut thats still not helping so if some one could tell me what all this lingo on here is that would help alot thanks and looking forward to the guidance:hmm:

ok and i just now read another thread were it sounded like the guy had the same problem as me the only difference is he has a 20a turbo and everyone told him to turn down the boost, and check for leaks

This is my final time I am going to say this, since it seems as if you are not even reading people's posts on here. DO A BOOST LEAK TEST:banghead:

are you serious? that sounds COMPLETELY useless. whatever happened to just knowing how much pressure is in the intake?

Of course I'm serious. The gauge is useless, Mitsubishi did the world a favor by making it impossible for the 2g gauge to be used improperly by removing the numbers.

OP, go down to Home Depot or Lowes and buy the components to build this IC Pipe Tester then use it. You will find leaks you didn't know were possible. Fix every one of them, it will take a lot of work and be a PITA but once it is done leaks in the future will be more manageable.

As a side note, I don't think I have to remind you, that we frown on street racing. If you're stupid enough to do it, please don't tell us.

oh ok the bov already has that done. i will be doing a blt here soon i want to do it tomorrow but the wife has once again made plans to keep that from happening. ok one more question last night i replaced the thermostat, because she was over heating, and i unpluged mas sensor because i was going to remove the lower rad hose as well, to flush the rad, but i started the car without the sensor pluged in and it was revving up and down while idling, so i plugged it back in it acted fine, but now it is revving up and down at an idle all the time and i cant think of anything that could be wrong, mas is plugged in, and all vaccums look good anyone know whats up? dsm are touchy

and just so you all know, i dont street race, i used to but i now have a 1 year old son, so i have to much to live for, a local track holds events called midnight madness the next one is june 19 at eddyville raceway in eddyville Iowa, if i remember right it is 8 dollars to watch and 10 to race it is from 10:00 p.m. till 2:00 a.m. and you race as much as you want

ok i will try that tonight, i am going to go back through and check everything i did last night to see if i bumped something loose:pray:

ok now what is fiav and isc, sorry i still havnt masterd the terms yet

Yeah, I considered explaining more but you have a link in this thread already so I thought you were okay. If you really need more explanation I can give it to you when I get home but entering each in the search would give you more than you need to know and days of reading if you wanted.

yep read the terms and they are both on the throttle body supposedly so i will find the little bastards, thanks guys i will let you know how it goes :thumb:

One thing I wanted to clarify. When we say "disconnect the MBC until you have a boost gage" we mean return the system to stock configuration (or run a boost source straight to the WGA).

Do NOT simply disconnect the boost source from the WGA because this will overboost the engine/turbo.

ok couldnt find really any problems, the only thing i found was a couple of the vaccum hoses were very badly cracked right off the tb so i cut/shortened them and it seems to have stopped the idle surge, and i will remove the mbc as soon as i can, i just started a new job so im doing everything with spare parts right now.

You do not need to remove it, just disconnect it, and reconnect the lines from the stock BCS. Should not take longer than 1 minute. You seriously should do this soon, being that you have no aftermarket boost gauge, and have no clue what you are actually running.

ya i know i need to disconnect it but i dont even think it is hooked up right, if i can i will post a pic ut i dont think its right i just need to take all the crap out that the guy befor me put in and start from scratch.:banghead:

Just hook the boost source straight to the waste gate actuator if you don't want to mess with plumbing the bcs. You will run only the waste gate spring pressure which will be safe until you get a real gage.
