I just received my autometer boost (mech), oil press(elect), and egt (elect) gauges. I opened them up yesterday and all of them look complete with the things they need except the oil press gauge. It came with the gauge, bulb and wires for the bulb, and the sender. However, in the instructions it says to hook up other wires that are not included. I've been searching the forums all morning long and here is what I have come up with that I need. Please tell me if I need anything else. Thanks in advance.

-18 Gauge Wire (from sender to gauge)
-2 other wires for 12 volt power and ignition (I dunno what gauge?)
-Clamp to hold Sender near power steering fluid holder or at the crossmember next to the oil filter housing (somewhere where there isn't much eng vibration)
-AN steal braided line or steal line from sender to oil filter housing
-3/8" NPT male (stock) to 1/8" NPT female (autometer) reducer (adapter)

I don't know what size steal line to get either. Since I'm goin from 3/8" to 1/8" I would assume the line would need to be 1/8". Is this correct?

Yes, it did. Everything but the oil press gauge came with what is needed. The only other thing I'm gonna do is use something else besides the crappy tubing that comes with the boost gauge, but I'm not sure what to get for that either or where to get it. Any info on that is also appreciated.

Home Depot is your friend, LOL. Seriously you could find all the plumbing for everything you need there. Another option is straight from Autometer.

Well what you can do is get a 3/8" female to a 1/8" male end fitting and then you could run your 1/8" line. So yes that's all you need to run that line.

Try the link I gave someone in this thread. I think it's what you're looking for.

Autometer distributes a one-size-fits-all instruction leaflet with their gauges. It's kind of confusing to look at, at first. What came with the gauges, however, is all that is needed to install them - just look through the instructions for whichever wires/connectors you have.

Try calling the company you got the gauge from, or the manufacture of the gauge and asking if all needed parts were included...if not, then they will send you the correct parts.

keep the tubing it came with....it may look "shitty" but its works fine.
ss lines are not needed with a simple boost gauge.
and some people like to use rubber tubing, but i dont believe in it because it may contract and/or expand, causing incorrect readings.

Actually, the nylon tubing the gauge comes with is extremely prone to damage; kinking, chaffing, breaking - if you even look at it the wrong way, a crease will form. ...and when that happens, you can kiss your gauge's accuracy good bye.

They don't make stainless steel lines specifically for boost gauges either. The only thing Autometer has is 1/8" copper tubing which is comparable to the nylon, only obviously much stronger.

I ordered that kit you gave me the link to, should be here today. I may have enough copper wire left over from the kit to use with the boost gauge as well. Thanks, brownie points for you!

No problem, I hope it all works out. Good luck.
