if you dont have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator well then ya....its gonna do that

I dont run one, i still have my stock FPR with a 255, and havent had a problem..
The stock fuel pressure regulator will just release the extra fuel being pumped into it..

Wrong. The stock FPR's return orifice is too small to cope with the increased flow of a 255lph pump, resulting in higher-than-normal fuel pressure.

Anyone with a 255lph pump or larger should have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. However, I don't believe the larger fuel pump is causing your car to shut off. Is there anything else going on? What makes you think it being rich is causing your problems?

Check your fuel return line and make sure it didn't get pinched while you were fixing your motor....

if that was the case it would not even start after first try.:nono:

ok you should not be giving help in this topic because its clear you dont know any more than hondaslayer1... our fpr can only handle 190 wallys and even thats a push. its a matter of time before yours goes to:nono:

+1 for afpr MrBoxx
as for the car chutting down if you smell an exes of fuel in your exhaust its the pump that is over doing it. or you have an ignition/ timing problem... check your timing marks and also make sure your wires and plugs are good.
good luck :thumb:

Yes the stock fpr.new ngk plugs.old ngk wires.yes timing is good.yes the vac line to the fpr is on.know it is over fueling cause when I start it it runs and wants to die out and try to keep it running with feathering the gas and dies instantly.and also I smell the tail pipe and it smells like raw fuel.I know I have a exaust manifold leak but every thing else looks fine

So in what order should I test or check things I'm running a 16g turbo 02 dump and walbro 255 there shouldn't be a problem with my setup just becasue a motor swap right I know the return is not pinched and not shure how good the plug wire are.and I may have a hole in my fpr vac line or not on the vac port all the way.makes no sence I had it running for like 5 mins a sall a oil leak from my feed line and shut it down and fixed the leak and now she don't want to keep running and also it has been raining a lot out here and could the coil and wires be afected by this with condensation

What would make the car start and then just shut off and also make the exaust smell like raw gas I know the ngk plugs are good and not to shure about the wires and the fpr vac line and I am running the stock fpr so it should be set at stock not shure if the 16g turbo and 255 are messing with each other or if the exaust manifold leak is causing this

Why would my car die out after an min of run time with 16g and 255 pump and smell like strong gas in the muffler

So what should.I do makes no sence it ran fine for over 5 mins at idle of 1000 rpm and then I shut it off cause of the slow oil leak was found then I go to start it and it won't keep running runs for a min then just dies need some better input asap

weird not having a afpr wont do that at all, had my car like that for a while since my fuel guage was on back order and they didnt want to give me my money back, but I know a buddy with a gst that was having a similar problem but it was the maf sensor that caused it. do you have a logger? is your check engine on? when did it start doing this? did you rewire your fuel pump? did you check your spark plug wires being connected to the correct order and how old are your wires? :hmm: :aha:

Hondaslayer, stop bumping your posts. You're going to need to totally re-inspect everything on the car, take note of anything that's out of place, not hooked up correctly, etc, and fix all that or report it to us so we can give you further information. But other than that, when someone knows the answer, they'll post. No need to keep bumping.

Sorry about the bumping of the post just need to get this resolved asap thing is I use to have a safc in my car and use to have a fps and now I don't have those to things it runs like crap and for a short time .the fireing order Is good the plugs are fully on.someone mentioned that the ecu could be it or the maf. I haven't done nothing to the maf but the safc has been taken out of the ecu harness what wires do u have to reconnect when u remove a safc 2 thinking I did not connect the ground wires from the safc.but the car would not start if they where not hooked up right.

How can I put a fuel pressure gauge on my fuel filter.don't have a scanner or logger and when I had my car running my temp gauge was not moving and how do u test the maf and ecu and I am not bumping I am replying to u guys so why are you guys telling me that I am new to the sight so please take it easy on me

you buy a fitting for a gauge that goes next to your fuel rail...your temp wont rise if you car keeps dieing .... if you have a friend with a DSM (same year for ecu as yours and turbo ed) swap the ecu and maf (one at a time) to se if theres a diffirence... sry about been strick its just you bumped at the beginning so some of us are less understanding than others.

or buy an AFPR with a gauge built in. Kill two birds with one stone you know?

I believe they sell them would be a much easier way to go about it.

If it smells like raw fuel your obviously dumping too much. We had a similar issue when turboing a previous car i owned. AFPR fixed her up real quick. I was running nearly double what i should have been.
