need help on axle/clutch questions??

Could a broken axle give the same symptoms as a slipping clutch. Because my car has a new#clutch Kit#new slave and#master cylinder#but the car still acts like clutch is slipping on takeoff but will not slip in the higher gears. So I was wondering if maybe I have a broken axle in the rear if not the axle what else could cause this cause with my old clutch I heard a loud pop then the car would slip in first and second gear so I figured it was clutch disk that broke but after puling old clutch out it was not broken only worn. Now with my new act 2600 I still have same problem on take off it slips but not in the higher gears. I need some help?

When slipping occurs, are you normal driving or launching the car? Was a new flywheel put in or resurfaced? Is all of the air out of the hydraulic line between the master and slave cylinders?

Will the car move at all in 1st or 2nd gear? Sounds an awful lot like this is a internal trans issue.

Yes I am normal driving it really only does it in first cause I have gone up a hill in second at low rpm and clutch did not slip its the oem flywheel I got it resurfaced and the step height is 610. I'm almost sure all the air is out as I have no problem changing gears and yes car will move in those gears just seems to slip in first and I have to soft to second our really third to get moving all of this happened when I accelerated hard in first when pulling out in traffic then I heard loud pop when I hit boost in first it just started slipping then I went to second still slipped was able to get goin in third but car did make a grinding noise when I first started taking off after this loud bang but now I have the new act 2600 clutch Kit it doesn't grind on takeoff but still feels like its slipping but only in first maybe second alittle bit

On my 90 Awd talon a broken front drivers axle broke and the
Car felt like I broke the clutch in half I could get the car into gear but once taking off it was slipping like crazy revving from 1k to 4 or 5 k and barely moving in first gear
I installed a new axle and bada bing bada bang my car drove Like it should again
If ## car is fwd it may do the same as well not sure with an LSD but with OEM that's usually the case with a broken axle

I'm awd its a 91 galant vr4 I know the front axles are fine as I changed them over when I changed the clutch but I haven't looked at the rear axles

Check out the rear axles and the transfer case. My guess is a broken inner axle cup stubshaft. Unbolt the axles from diff and pull the inner axle cups.

Ok will check it out tomorrow evening I really appreciate the help and suggestions this has been a nightmare man I will let you know how it goes if I find that's the problem thanks again

I put my car on jackstands and put it in third great and spun the front drivers side wheel and only my front passenger wheel spun. I then went to back spin the rear drivers side wheel and it is the only wheel that spun being awd should turning just one wheel spin the other three do I have a problem if so what could it be all this was done in third gear also and car only slips in lower gears in boost not higher gears that I can tell especially not in fifth our fourth
