2G Need help. New engine or not?

Ok guys I have a 95 gst what went from needing head gasket job to finding out the person who sand blasted the VC didn't take out the baffle and now long story the bottom end is no good due to the sand left over and it being mixed into the oil along side of the coolant as well haha. Car I got in a trade and now the big decision needing a new lower end. Cost will be over 6k, go for it or no?

How is it going to cost $6k? We're not sure if you have a turbo model or N/T, but either way that is a high price for a stock engine. Sounds like the labor charges are out the ass. I can only assume that price is for a fully rebuilt/remanufactured engine. Depending on the severity of damages I would either rebuild the current engine or get a cheap used one to rebuild.

Yeah mostly labor and being in Colorado, everything is going up in price. But most likely labor but he's a known DSM builder here as well.
