Need help identifying a transmission

I bought a used transmission. It is supposed to be for a 97 GST FWD. My shop says it's for a NT. Some numbers on it are:

A tag that says - Kokomo K 634 3060 8251

D-515 is on it in a number of places.

997N1187 is on the pan.

Can anyone help me identify what transmission this is for sure.

is this a 5 speed gear box? Post a picture I can tell you within seconds if it's for the 4g63 or the 420a. They don't look too much alike

Keep in mind that it could also be a N/T 4G63 gearbox. I agree with the above though - post up a picture.

It is for an n/t 420a.

Yeah, that guy lied to you. That tranny is DEFINITELY not for a 4G63.
It does look to be for a FWD transverse mounted engine though.

My guess is that it's for a non-turbo 2G. Hopefully a 420a guy can come in here and confirm this...

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm not sure how the guy who sold it to me got it wrong. He said it was out of his brother's 97 GST. I don't know if perhaps someone stuck a 420A in the car before he got it or I was just plain lied to. I talked to the guy on the phone a number of times and he did not seem like a dishonest guy. I sent him an email requesting my money back today. We'll see what happens. I bought it from the DSM trader. I can't even post there cause I'm too new.
