I just took delivery on a complete N/T 6 bolt 4g63 motor(SCORED IT FOR $20 BUCKS!!!!). I plan on using it in my 90 TSI after I build it up but I would like to know what year it is so I can sell what I don't use from it. The kid I bought it from didn't know what year it was. I'm pretty sure isn't a 90 becuase of the coil pack. I'm guesing it's a 91-94? but is their any way to tell for sure. I also need to know so when I start ordering parts I get the right stuff for the correct year.

A part from 91 will fit on a 94...same engine

What about thing's like the CAS, water lines, thermostat housing, rocker arms, and oil pan? Does it matter if these are T/NT or FWD/AWD??

It matters if it's a turbo and a non-turbo. The pistons are different and the cams are also different. If the oil pan has returns lines then it's a turbo motor.
