Identifying Motor

Is there anyway to tell is my motor is actually a Turbo motor? Like any numbers or anything on it?

4G63T on the front would be a pretty good giveaway. Intake manifold, Exhaust manifold, Oil return hole in oil pan, Coolant pipe tapped for turbo coolant lines....tons of ways to tell.

Well i bought a talon AWD(do they make AWD non turbo) and it had a regual header on it and had none of the coolant line oil lines and no hole on oil pan for turbo line. So i was just wondering. ALSO the turbo came with the car so I am just wondering if that is the orginal motor...

I know the car was originally turbo ### it has boost gauge BOV and SMIC but i just need a way to see what kind of motor it has in it....

No on the non-turbo awd. And the turbo was probably for a n/t-turbo project. Post pics.

could i just do a compression test to see which motor it is....the thing i s i have them motor out of the car ready to put in my other and have the turbo already bolted on and everything else switched over so what would that mean IF i did do a compression test?

It will tell you how good of shape the motor is in. But if it's out of the car then you can't compression test it.

Well im putting the motor in tomorrow. SO theres no way of nknowing which motor it is?

I just told you look for a 4G63T stamp on the front right of the motor. And coolant pipe and all those other things. If they don't have that stuff then it's not a turbo motor and your gonna be able to run about 6psi.

Check the VIN on the front part of the block towards the top. If it has a "U" in it, then its a turbo block.
