Sup guys. Just picked up a 93 TSI AWD(needed to get back into the dsm gameLOL. Got a few dumb questions i suppose.

1. Owner said bottom end had Wiseco 8:9:1 pistons(maybe he mistaked them for 9:1?) What are several easier ways to identify these babies? Dropping the pan or checking compression, if so what should they be at?

2. The turbo he claims is a Precision Mitsu Hybrid sc 52? A/R .63. Internally gated. Any experience with this? Also i found it weird i crept up to about 18lbs when there is no MBC and the wastegate spring is set at 10lbs. Anyway to correctly make sure this turbo isn't ebay?

Thanks in advance

post some pics of the turbo and setup. As for the pistons, I dont really know how to check, but they're already in so you might as well roll with them LOL

Wiseco should be able to identify the pistons by the number stamped on them. Im not sure where they stamp them however. Could also be a 8.8:1.. Maybe a type-o? Wiseco pistons on stock rods sound iffy. Did he name some rods?

I'll just name most mods

Eagle rods
Eagle crank
ACL bearings
TRE Trans
ACT 2600
Fidanza flywheel
BC 272's

He claims theres roughly 100 miles on rebuild, the cars been sitting for awhile really. No reciepts for most parts though. He did have a wiseco sticker on the window ROFL
