Need help finding engine knock

We DID torque them. You have no idea how much vibration you get in an engine with no balance shafts and poly engine mounts. It shakes everything. We would have safety-wired the flywheel bolts, but were afraid of messing up the balance, so we just loctited them.

We are, slowly but surely, safety wiring prit near everything we can on the motor and transmission. It is a genuine PITA, but needs to be done. Our race weekends have been done in by parts falling off the car because of vibration--such as the starter, wastegate, turbo and transmission.

*sigh* We'll have it all sorted out by the final race of the season.

I only hit 8600 rpm one time. I will never live that down. I never should have told you guys. Besides, that was last season.

I've tried putting out this word, but I've given up.

Yow. Blue, red or green?
Odd that you'd be concerned with balance. It's a racer. The motor's going to go anyway. I'd not expect a couple loops of wire would have enough mass to be a concern.
But I'd never believe LocTite let them come loose, either. So there we are.

I used this flywheel attachment hardware kit from FP to avoid the very problem that you encountered...

In the original build up we did not employ LocTite. (or it was blue, I do not recall)
In this re-assembly we used Blue

No. I never register or reserve anything until I am sure Mr Never on Sunday is ready to race.
