I got a holset hx40 from where I work. They were going to through it out. I traded it for a 2g manual trans ecu, it is a bluestreak america brand, and lowering springs. when i put the ecu in I switched #6 and #14 wires. It started then died. We started it up and nomatter where the throttle was it would only rev betwene 1000 and 2000 rpms and that is it. We switched the wires, and the same thing happened.

On to my questioun. is the ecu repairable (it is still clean capisters are not leaking.) or is it toast. I have this weird feeling that I got screwed.

We had a dead 1G ECU a while back and sent it out to the guys at ECMTuning (ECMTuning, Inc.). They are helpful there and they repaired it and socketed it for around $50.00. It worked perfect when it came back. They should be able to shed some light.

Need more information or pictures (unless I just can't see them right now). Can you post the 4 numbers on the white harness connector of the board? That will tell us what ecu this is for sure.

that corresponds to:

You should not need to switch wires on that.

I will echo previous poster - talk to ECMTuning. They do first class fast work and they know their shite.
