not a stock one though and I dont need a crankshaft in it. I want a stage 1 or stage 2 rebuild kit with 4 dual valve overlap pistons.

I ave searched for the last hour or so and can not find nothing :(.

Anybody have any recommendations or ideas?

For my recent rebuild i went to thedsmgraveyard.com and got a set of their 2g pistons on 1g rods with ARP rod bolts. It is more or less a stock replacement with higher compression (8.5:1) and more peace of mind with the ARP rod bolts. What makes this a good buy is the fact that the are shipped pre assembled. Of course... if you are shooting for the moon I would suggest forged internals.

As for a good rebuild kit, I am currently impressed with the topline complete gasket set i received from extremepsi.com. Normally i would shy away from topline but this kit pretty much came with everything i needed, including crush washers. Also the intake manifold gasket appears to be well constructed- its a metal crush type.

Of course it is always recommended to install ARP head studs when doing any rebuild (they are reusable, stock head bolts aren't). A MLS head gasket is also never a bad idea, but must be accompanied by a decked head and block for a perfect mating surface.

I wish you luck sir!

Well i need it to come with valves and all that stuff honestly. Pretty much i only know a little bit about dsm's but my timing belt went out and did abunch of damage, but my buddy told me if I buy what I need to get it rebuilt he will build it. I just dont know 100% what I need. But I have $1000 to spend on it. So if you had like $1000 and could by what I needed. What would you buy? Cause I am lost.

It's going to be really hard with only that amount of money. I would go with the graveyard motor sports internals. For valves look for packages on extremepsi.com.

$1000 is going to be rough, but more importantly how much does your friend know about building an engine?

he knows what he is doing, plus another friend is a mechanic said he will help out to.

Ok though. If $1000 isnt enoughh, How much do you guys think would be enough?

I'm not trying to be a jerk but no one is going to get all your prices for you. You can put a parts list together and get prices as easy as we can. But for 1k you won't get that much.

Look through the supporting venders and they'll be able to help you out.

honestly I am more curious for what part I need, I know I need new pistons and valves, but what else do I need?

I am pretty much asking what parts do I need to rebuild my engine

It would be cheaper to pull a used motor or do a stock rebuild. Not only do you have the parts you have to buy, but you'll need to have machine shop work as well (checking for flatness, replacing any cracked valve guides, cutting valves to head). Just doing the timing belt with OEM parts will be in the 250+ range. You'll need to pull the oil pump and it would be good to replace that as well since it's off and that's another $200+ for the OEM piece.

Take it for what it's worth, it's not cheap for quality/reliability.

It was just your timing that went out correct? All-in-all, you may not even need to change your pistons depending on how they look. If you don't need to drop the pan then it won't be nearly as expensive.
