Sorry for the abundance of threads lately!

I've narrowed it down to TEIN BASIC Coilovers, Megan Racing Coilovers ( Apexi lookalikes), Tanabe sustec s0-c type II Coilovers, Illuminas + Prokits, or Koni Yellow's + Prokits.

I have $600 put away for my suspension, but I could pick up a few more shifts and pad that to around $750 without too much hassle.

I'm pretty sure most of these can be had for that amount.
Which would I be better off with?
If The Illumina Combo will be a great setup, then I'll do that cause its the cheapest. But if it would be substantially be better to get the Megan's or Tanabe's I'll shell out.

Thanks!

ProKits are too low for any of the dampers available for a 2G, assuming you want your suspension to work and be better than stock. If you're looking simply to lower the car for looks then this will work, but it will not handle well.

Konis are the best off-the-shelf dampers for the 2G, unless AGX have improved dramatically (they were too long in the front, and last I saw they were still blowing seals regularly). I did not like the valving of the AGXs either.

I have no data on low-end Tanabe or Tein.

AGX's are decent if you don't lower the car a significant amount. There's a newer part number with a shorter body, but it will still blow if you slam the car(which prokits will pretty much do)

do you just want to be able to adjust ride height? Basic's and Tanabe S-OC will only allow you to adjust ride height and not dampening. If you want a better overall kit stick with Koni's with something like the Tanabe GF210 Springs. Very good spring that offers a nice ride but still provides a stronger spring rate.

If you can come up with like another $150 then take a look at the Tein SS, Megan RS, D2 or some of the Tanabe SS.

best of luck

Are you thinking of sportlines?
Those are my thoughts too, I was under the impression that prokits would provide a great ride while lowering minimally.

Thanks for the advice guys, I found a smokin deal on the illuminas so I may have to get those just cause they're so cheap.
