I just got confirmation from Norwalk Raceway Park, we have a date already for the 12th Annual DSM/EVO Shootout!

Mark your calendars, plan your vacations, you don't want to miss out on this!

August 15th, 2004.

The DSM Shootout is something I started over 11 years ago just out of love for the DSM's. It started out with 8 guys getting together and we had our own staging lane for a night of grudge racing. The next year we had the same thing, one lane just for the DSM's at the track, 16 cars. The next year it grew to 48 cars. From then we had to do an actual track rental, it was getting to big. We use to rent the track on Fridays during the day, then it got to big for that too. For the last two years it has been so large we had to do a Sunday rental.

The Shootout is just a great time. People who have come for years just can't wait for the next year. They plan their entire family vacation around it.

This year, 11th Annual 2003, we invited the EVO's to come out. This was basically a last minute thing and to my surprise we had over 20 EVO's there. Really nice to see some new blood.

My plans for this year are to offer two seperate classes for the EVO's. One will be for anyone who is still running the stock turbo the other for guys that have upgraded. There are also bracket classes for guys that don't want to run heads-up.

Keep this in mind it truly is a great time. Al was there for the first time and the enthusiasm he had was almost overwhelming, I think that is why I like the guy so much!

Any comments, questions or words of wisdom are more than welcome. Please ask or comment here so we can keep this close to the top for all to see.

Thanks a lot.

I think that explains what and where it is.

about 1 minutes straight south of cedar point in north west ohio. this year will be my 6th shootout :) woohoo

I've never been, so I'm pretty stoked about going, I think we are bringing a couple cars with us. Is there any sort of n/a class there?

There's a large group of people from 2GNT.com going this year. Another guy and I are rolling from Phoenix the Tuesday before if anyone in CA is interested. Supposed to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 people from 2GNT going too, but you know how the ratio of people who say they're going to people who actually do go is...

:p

See you bishes in Ohio imo. :D :talon:

thats exactly what i was thinking. i think i will sit this year out and go up next year when im turbo and pushing some boost. there should be a 420a bracket.

whos the head of it? maybe they can make one?
Buschur. Trust me. He's not interested in the NTs. At least not until enough of us start showing up to be noticed. :p

Well i guess i'll have to run in the fwd turbo class, hope their ready for the coltster:thumb:

We took a stock NA out a couple years ago for the autox at the Shootout. Unfortuanately, there was only one other NA there so we got thrown into the stock turbo class :( No chance to win, BUT we came in 7th out of 15 on what was basically a power course. :) Gotta say, the NA may be weak down the straights, but it corners a lot better...

They didn't come with the 4g63, we swapped one into ours.

oh really? ok. i just thought that cause ive seen several things about colts with 4g63's in them. thanks

Are they even allowing non-DSMs to participate in anything this year other than EVOs? I think I saw somewhere that the only other 2 cars running were a couple parts bishes belonging to guys at their shop.

What? I pulled a 4g63 out of a Colt at the junkyard. I salvaged the valve cover and the bolts in my quest.
