Late 90's Stangs... Don't hate on N/A's

ive killed 2 stangs. one was a gray 97 with some nice 15" hubcaps. the other was driven by a female(not knocking chick drivers) and was an auto. its was the newer body style. both were v6. killed one 4.3l blazer extreme and 1 old camaro who supposedly has a 350. he goes to my school, but wont let anyone look under the hood. its and 80's model i believe with some nice z28 decals. its rolled over about 3 times (300k miles). ive also raced my best friends 91 3kgt SL. it'd probably be ok if it didnt weigh a million pounds. it has the edge a little in top end. from 1-3 i had him by 2 cars. from 4th to 5th he made it about 1/2 car length. those things dont shut off until around 145 or so. kinda scary. NA eclipses are pretty dangerous from redlight to redlight. if u wanna have fun, find some accords or small pickups.

with a V8 you cant just look at the HP look at the torque and torque curve.. 260hp may seem a lil weak but it is enough for those stangs to break 13's with a 5 spd bone stock!

as far as the 80's camaro could be a 350... but those only came in the IROC's.... otherwise it is a 305.... 170hp-210hp all versions of it are dogs though....

I raced my friends 02 , 5spd v-6 mustang with cam gears, pullies, intake, flowmasters, beat him by a car length and a half , got up to about 110...fun. but now that im getting my new engine from howellautomotive.com its all performanced out..and al;ot of other goodies...we shall see what happens

can a 99 eclipse rs 5speed with cai and catback exhaust beat a stock 2002 5speed V-6 mustang?what a bout a auto dsm same mods vs a manual mustang?

another thing abotu the guy with the chrome altezzas that wont race me, he put those big wide ass drag radial tires on the back of his car and those skinny little bicycle tires on the front, someone please kill this guy, that car doesnt have anywhere near the amount of torque to turn those big ass tires the way they are supposed to. hehe anyway just though ti would start up some more conversation.

I think if they both race with only the driver and no passengers and he's a good driver his eclipse will win.. that's just because I raced 3 6banger mustangs already that were all 5 speeds and took them all. Especially since he's got intake and exhaust and the mustang is stock that's how it was for me. If he would lose he would not lose by much at all he'd hang right next to him.. just watch they take off quick make sure you get a good launch cuz that RWD makes them jump the line better than we can. Maby race him from a roll if you are on a strip somewhere or something.

I dont know who you guys have been racing in their mustangs.....but dam*....ok here it is....my mom owns a 2000 v-6 stang, 5 spd....it would walk all over almost every non-turbo eclipse in here....i don't care what mods you have, if its N/A it's goin down, and any GT mustang would kill us too, if we're N/A....bottom line is toque fellas, they have more torque at the rear wheels than we do at the crank....face it....if you beat a mustang, the driver sucked.....i love my 95 GS, but I don't race V-8's, unless i feel lik looking dumb, or seeing how fast a car is....my friend can't swim, so he stays his white a$$ out of the pool! get the picture?You keep forgetting that although they lose more power due to rear wheel drive, they also have 195 horses, if its a 99 and above, now the v-6 98 and below, thats a race you can win, no doubt.....they'r slower than turbo'd weedwackers.....

I couldn't agree more. I've yet to see a newer v6 stang lose to a n/a dsm that hasn't been substantialy modded. You people that are claiming easy victories are going against someone that doesn't know they're racing or someone who mistakes the e-brake for the shifter.

keep in mind that when alot of these people bought thier v-6 stangs they never planned on ever racing it. After the F&F came out they decided to race. I have raced a few and won. But I have also driven a few of the newer ones and I will say they have more power than my non-turbo dsm. What I am saying is that most of these people really dont know how to drive thier car. If you get a good launch and you have some bolt ons you can win if your 5 spd and hes automatic which most are.

For the 10th f*cking time we are talking about late 90's stangs not 2000 for those of you above like Neo Racer and 95gs sheesh this thread is not about 2000 stangs it's about late 90's v-6 stangs read the title!!!!!!! The 99 and newer ones are quicker than the 96-98's I beat a 97 v6 tonight we even raced 4 times 2 with one driver and 2 with the other cuz they couldn't belive how I was pullin carlengths on him.

hey LifeRollsOn, check the end of my post.....it DOES say 98 and below V-6's are races that can be won.....but you said that a good driver in a 99 eclipse rs 5spd. with an intake and exhaust could beat a 2002 5spd V-6....which isn't true.....that's what I was contradiciting......you're even the one who said that it could be done, hen it can't, calm down.....

Those videos are sooo sweet man. Thank you so much I have already showed all my friends and they are like dude that is f*cking sweet you need to get your turbo kit sooner(I am still saving got about a nother $1000 left to go) I cannot wait to see one on dry roads, when you take off sometime you should say how fast you are going like every 10 or 15mph so we can tell how quick it's going because it's really hard to see your spedometer needle. Thanks again man those are sweet.
