Mysterious Valve Cover Hole

So I trying to find the issue to where my oil is leaking and we found the valve cover was leaking. Replaced that and the leak went away aside from this mysterious hole by the exhaust cam side. Wondering why it's there and if it's supposed to be plugged or not. I'm losing a pretty good amount of oil out of it and need to know how to solve it.
