What is the difference between ebay kits and vendor kits other than price?

Ebay- $16.95 (with shipping)

Vendor- around $65.00 (with shipping)

Yea the fel-pro valve cover gasket is around $20 at advance auto.

honestly, having worked at a parts store and having also bought Ebay kits, I'd buy the ebay if I wasn't in a hurry. a valve cover gasket isn't a huge thing to worry about.

a headgasket is a different story. I have bought the ebay head kits and then went straight to the dealer for the headgasket itself, using the rest of the gaskets and seals from the kit. most of the headgaskets you find on ebay are complete crap.

if anything, some of the ebay sets are more complete in most cases.

I ordered the ebay VC gasket set and just installed it this weekend. It matched up perfect and now no leaking. And while I was in there I replaced the spark plugs. It was really easy to replace both parts even though it was my fisrt time ripping a car apart.

I will vouch for the ebay kit. It IS cheaper than local parts stores, AND it includes the entire set (4 spark plug holes and halfmoon included)

You can also go with partsdinosaur. Good guys over there, on par with ebay prices, including full set, cheaper than any vendor and local parts stores.
